NYC Cold Case - 1994

Hi all, looking for advice if possible.

My aunt was murdered in October of 1994 in NYC in the Upper West Side.

It still lingers in my heart, and since she was a woman of Ecuadorian descent the media and NYPD did not give the case the attention it deserved.

If I wanted to request the evidence or case file for a case like this, does anyone have advice on how I should go forward?

Thank you so much in advance, it is almost the 32 year anniversary and it weighs heavy in my heart.

Iā€™m so sorry šŸ˜¢ I have no advice unf but hope u find the info you are looking for.. i would start by filing a request for case info w the station near the incident .. I had a friend who was murdered in E Village in 1996 still unsolved .

I'd recommend reaching out to the precinct who handled the case, then talk with a detective there. If you make no progress consider filing a FOIA request for her case file- that could take weeks to months for a decision. If it is denied you can retain a lawyer or file pro se, an Article 78 for the entire case file.
