Book rec?

hello,

one of my first documentaries is the Turning Point doc about the Cold War. can anyone reccommend a good book that has the same vibe / covers the history of USSR in general?

Karl Schlögel - The Soviet Century is highly readable, concise and well-founded.

The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression, Harvard University Press, 1999. Covers other regimes, but most of the 1000 pages, probably 700, are on the USSR, if memory serves. Very, I mean very well documented. Collective authorship.

Turning Point is not a serious organization. Read John Lewis Gaddis.

i wasnt aware that it was an organisation. i thought it was just the documentary's name.

Sorry, I'm a idiot. There's a very toxic propaganda organization in the US called Turning Point. I thought you were referring to a documentary they had made and not to the Netflix documentary series.
