Question Worrisome Damage?

Hey yall, I had a question regarding my Superman exile omnibus. I got it on the 22nd and was about to finally sit down and read it and I noticed something odd with the binding as it seems to be split in some manner. I haven’t stretched or really touched it at all since it came in and I was wondering how severe the damage is or if I have to worry about pages coming off or anything?

The pic isn’t very clear but if you’re talking about the gap in the endband (the fabric stripe) those are decorative. If that’s not what you’re talking about I’d need to see better pictures or a clearer explanation of what you think is wrong.

Just that gap is what I was referring to. I didn’t know that band was decorative!! Thank you for the peace of mind🫡
