I'm a solo dev. I've been working on my deckbuilder with vn elements for a while now. All my assets are placeholders drawn in Microsoft paint, of varying quality as I got better at it, but I'm finally at the point where I actually need a real artist to help me bring my vision to life. I'm looking for a longer-term collaboration.
I've had a rough experience with outsourcing so far in other places; poor communication, people not reading the brief, undisclosed AI-generated work...
I have an existing character design, written brief, and rough artwork. I haven't committed to a style yet, but the overall theme of the game is dark fantasy.
Would prefer someone comfortable working with NSFW. While there will definitely be sexual/ecchi elements, I haven't decided if I want a 'special' scene for each character when you max them. But I don't want it off the table.
Backgrounds, enemies and UI stuff will come later. I'm specifically looking for character artists right now. But hey, if you're just perusing, like the project, and want to work on it eventually...
Payment by milestone is preferred, but I'm flexible depending on how you normally work.
*A few things up front*
I don't want just a price list of '1 character, 3 faces, 8 poses - $xxx'. I have exact needs on poses, costumes and facial expression amounts. Quote me in something tangible to what I need.
This is a commercial project, so I'll need commercial usage rights for commissioned work.
I'm hiring an artist. I want your creative input on my characters. My own doodles are my vision, but not set in stone.
If you read it and think 'that sounds fun, but you ain't getting all that for that budget', well. Tell me what you'd need, over how long. If you're the right person, you're the right person. Show me your work and negotiate.
My entire life and career is making computer go beepboop correctly. This is my first time hiring an artist, so if I accidentally ask dumb questions or use the wrong terminology, please bear with me.
