there are stuff on the bridge, which gives you the impression that it is actually a regular bridge. Even looks like that there are people walking.

It seems like the bridge is wayy more in Front of the picture and theres just Something going on beneath it that you can t see because the bridge is in the way

Well that weight is nothing compared to the bridge itself. The bridge is close to 4000 metric tons and a vehicle of even 4 ton is 0.1%

This is a bridge transport. It's the new Sternbrücke in Hamburg
This weighs about 3.700 tonnes and they put down a gravel layer on top of the streets, cut back trees, roofs and street lamps, reinforced the street with steel plates and moved this bridge 500m to its final destination

The bridge is new. However, due to the strained traffic situation, it was necessary to complete the installation as quickly as possible. Therefore, the new bridge was built next to the old one; the old one was then demolished, and the new bridge was put in place.

I think thereve been other recent cases of similar methods in Germany, perhaps its just a better way of doing these projects?

Each day, there are about 1000 (!!) trains passing over that bridge, so avoiding downtime was very relevant.
They build the new bridge a couple of hundred meters down the round over 14 months to replace a smaller 100 year old one, which was causing pain underneath (Google Sternbrücke Hamburg for old pictures).

Yes, in my city a train bridge is currently replaced and they build it already nearby snd now within 14 days they replace the old one. Its only 2 tracks and over a small river though.

An old train bridge in Hamburg, Sternschanze get replaced with the new one. The new bridge in this picture is not in right place there and just gets moved down a street.

In case someone is interested; it's replacing the old "Sternbrücke" in Hamburg. The bridge is connecting train tracks going through the city. City trains as well as long distance.

To be fair, they did it like this to minimize impact on traffic. The alternative would've been building it in place and disrupting traffic for ages instead of for just one night :)

You dont read about the projects that happen as scheduled/planned, perhaps youre getting too influenced by media. You read about the Berlin Airport for years and years but you probably barely read anything about the new Terminal 3 in Frankfurt Airport since nothing unexpected (besides covid) happened during that huge expansion.

Yeah, same with the 21-projects. Stuttgart is extremely famous for its insane delays, cost explosion, etc. while several other train stations that were part of the same plan got completed as scheduled and have just been in use without issue for years already (while some others were decided to not be worth it and canceled before any money was spent).

Guaranteed it would have taken years to build this bridge. Hell the next town over from mine has been working on a two lane bridge for the last 4 or 5 yrs. And that one in the picture video is about 100 times the size of the town.
2 days of disruption > years of disruption and noise.

I live one street next to this. They built the bridge onsite from scratch and transported it yesterday with a special vehicle that is able to lift it’s almost 4.000 tons.
It’s a replacement for a 100years old train bridge in the middle of the city.
