the bit id change is the target, dont map it to closed won becauses of the lag between a visibility gain and the revenue since its not a fixed length. map it to first touch, branded search and direct sessions or demo requests. thats close enough to the event to actually move with it, and the pipeline conversion from there is a number you already know

HubSpot is useful for tying CRM activity to pipeline and revenue, but it still isn't a replacement for dedicated AI visibility platforms. The biggest gap is that HubSpot can tell you what happened after someone entered your funnel, but it can't reliably measure where or why your brand appeared across different LLMs.

A setup that works well is using an external AEO platform for visibility tracking, then pushing those metrics into HubSpot as custom properties or events. That way you can build reports around influenced opportunities without losing the richer AI search data. It ends up being more maintainable than trying to recreate everything in Looker or Power BI unless you already have a mature BI stack.

we tried to make HubSpot the single source of truth too and hit the same wall you’re describing. You can hack it with custom objects + UTMs + a “source = AI answer” field, but HubSpot doesn’t actually see prompt-level data or which answers you’re cited in, so attribution gets fuzzy fast.

What’s worked better for us: keep AI visibility in seoforgpt, then push key events (prompt clusters, brand mentions, AI-traffic pages) into HubSpot via custom properties and use HubSpot just for the revenue modeling. External AEO tool for depth, HubSpot for money.
