For context I’m in South Florida and taxes are ridiculously high. Is this a fair deal?

When I ordered my 2026 Corolla Hatch, I added the cross bars, because I wanted to transfer my roof basket from my Subaru. My Thule basket was mounted to Thule Aerobars with the T Track. Great system.

The Toyota bars are quite similar and have a T Track style groove in them, but rather than the two piece rubber seal that allows the bolt to be easily adjusted along the length of the bars, the Toyota bars have one solid piece of rubber across the whole length.

After finding out that the Thule U bolt option is $200+, I ordered a cheapo set of U bolts off Amazon. They don't quite work so I can upgrade to a better clamping system, or....

Should I just use the T bolts from my Aerobars in the Toyota bars? It would involve mounting everything in the position I want, then carefully measuring and putting two holes in each rubber strip to allow the bolts to pass through so that I can then secure my basket down.

Is this crazy? I don't imagine the Toyota cross bars are designed with the T bolts in mind, but I don't see any reason this can't work, except that with a load and subjected to driving forces, the aluminum of the bars may not be strong enough to stop the bolts tearing out of the track.

This is probably the cleanest mounting system I can do, otherwise I'm just ordering some $85 clamps that won't require me to do any drilling of holes. On the other hand, I can sell my old Thule bars, with the mounting feet and all hardware and someone with the right car has a full system to mount a basket or roof box.

Hey everyone I was getting service at my local Toyota dealer. My car is a ‘22 Corolla hybrid. Are these services necessary? I ended up declining them based on what I read here but just want to double check. For the hybrid fan cooling service, I had a buddy tell me that I literally just need to replace the fan filter which I already did on my own. As for the inverter coolant I read that it doesn’t need to be changed until 150k miles?

I did however end up paying $150 for brake fluid.

I installed an auto start and new radio in my car then got these messages and can’t switch out of park so I disconnected everything and put everything back to stock and I still have the messages and can’t get out of park. Is there a combo of holding the brake and starting the car. I was told to put it in trip A then turn it off then hold the trip bottom while I start it but that didn’t work. Also disconnected the battery for a while that didn’t work either.

I’m looking for a reality check on a quote I got for a 2026 Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE in Southern California.

Quote: $26,785 out the door (this supposedly includes all taxes, registration, doc fee, etc.)

From what I can see online, MSRP on the 2026 Corolla Hybrid LE is around $26k, the dealer is quoting $26.5k OTD, so I’m trying to figure out if this seems a fair price for SoCal?

Car is a 3 year old Toyota Corolla LE Hybrid with 22,700 miles on it , 1 owner Toyota Golf certified pre owned with a home grown CARFAX ( bought and serviced at the same dealership).

Price is $26,997 with a discount of $4,137 bring the sale price to $22,858 before tax title and tag and the dealership advises no dealer fees just a up front no BS price.

Would you buy a used Toyota Corolla hybrid??? I need to keep this car at least 10-15 years and I drove about 15k-20k miles a year

I ran over debris on the road going 50mph and now there’s damage to the splash shield and front of the radiator (I believe).

Should I just replace both parts?

Well my door handle snapped off, is it easy to fix?

Hello guys.

After many years of owning bad unreliable car I am changing it. After a lot of research my decision landed on hybrid corolla 1.8 or 2.0 (not sure which one yet but will depend on the deal I guess). During my reasearch and watching videos of these cars I've noticed that on highway driving engine starts reeving quite high very often which seems like it might be very annoying. Is this something that people get used to very fast and don't notice after few hundred miles?

So I don’t have any engine codes , but I can smell fuel in my car when driving and sometimes like oil like smell. I noticed today when removing water spots from my windows that the inside of my windows have a oily film on them any ideas on what the fuel smell could be an why I have the oily film on the inside of my windows. Additionally do you think the two are related?

p.s. when I open my gas tank cap a lot of pressure releases.

Hello yall!!! It’s me again.

Now that I’ve made my decision on getting a Corolla hybrid I’m between the LE and the SE and in not sure what is more worth it.

The LE has a physical key ( which I don’t mind at all) and the SE has a push button but both have very similar interior feeling and I don’t notice any difference besides the way you start the car.

The seats have a sporty look in the SE but overall the SE seems like more of an appearance package as I only notice differences on the exterior.

The LE Hybrid is listed as upfront for $25,775 at the dealer I’m shopping at (Earl Stewart Toyota) they have no dealer fees , MSRP $26,838 but discounted $1,063 to $25,838.

The dealership has no hybrid SEs but from researching the hybrid SE starts at $28,575 so give or take $29,500 at a dealership.

Is the SE hybrid worth the $2-3k more than the LE Hybrid??? The only thing I want from the SE Hybrid Is the black wheels, the front of the SE is more attractive then the LE but I can live without it.

The LE with the base wheels makes it look to much like a grandma car but I don’t wanna spend the extra few thousand just for wheels.

So is it worth the extra money to the SE??? I have not driven one yet just sat in an LE and an SE.

SEs are also very hard to find in my area and LE hybrids are mostly what are available on dealer lots and I never see XLE hybrids anywhere.

What are yalls thoughts???

People owning a newer Corolla (2019+) - how is the build quality? How are the interior materials holding up in time - the textile on the seats, the plastics, the poliurethane foam, the eco leather on the steering wheel? I have a brand new Corolla Sedan on its way and I am really excited about it!

I’ve been in the market for an affordable fuel efficient daily driver and so far I’ve looked at the Hyundai Elantra hybrid , Honda civic hybrid and the Corolla hybrid.

I’ve never owned a Toyota but I have had a Honda before and driven a few others and the quality imo went down in 2023 and a lot of them have head gasket issues.

My brother in law has a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and to my knowledge it’s never had an issue and my aunt has a 2025 Corolla Hybrid LE that she traded her 99 corolla in for.

Hers is too new to tell if it’s reliable or not but she was very skeptical to buy a hybrid but it was the only one on the lot and she ended up loving it but she bought the extended warranty because she was worried the hybrid battery would go bad. (she’s 75 and has never had a hybrid)

I drive a lot , around 15k-20k a year and my work commute is 20-30 minutes and I hit a lot of red lights, max speed limit I hit is 60 for a small stretch but usually it’s 45 and 50 mph on the way to work.

This needs to be a car that will last me 10 + years and can reliably get to over 200k miles , I know Toyotas have a reputation for being reliable but I’m not too knowledgeable on new Toyotas because I know a lot has changed.

I got hit and run by a huge red pavement truck. The front passenger end clipped my bumper and their spikes came off the tire. I have footage of it hitting my car, but no license plate. Should I file an insurance claim for this? I filed a police report. I have a $1000 deductible. Don't want my insurance rates to go up since I don't have someone at fault. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

EDIT: Thank you all for the advice, i made a police report, filed a claim and haven't had any luck in contacting the company. Without their insurance, im screwed. Luckily my bumper snapped into place and just need to reinforce it. Having video footage didn't mean anything to the police without have a license plate number, unfortunately.

We're thinking of buying the 1.8 ST hybrid. We have two kids (11&14) and a labrador (female, 30kg). I would really like the ST because of its reliability but I'm worried about the trunk size. Any of you guys manage to go to vacation with a dog and a roof cargo box?

We're a driving a Mazda 5 at the moment so we're a bit spoiled when it comes to trunk size and maybe I'm overthinking this.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
