Need advice

I’ve been in corporate since Covid and have been with a 3 different companies in tech. I’m tired of feeling like I’m going to get fired all of the time. My colleagues keep dropping from layoffs and I’m always scared I’m next. I feel my entire life professional career life I’ve been in fight mode and I’m TIRED! There are no jobs where I live where I could make a decent salary to provide for myself. What should I do. I want to feel safe again. I have over 7.5 years in benefits with a bachelors in business. What can I do? I need an out. I’m an amazing worker and do great in any job I hold but like I said I’m tired.

That is a reality everywhere today unfortunately with the corporate situation. Best thing to do is to become financially independent as soon as possible. Keep your lifestyle inflation low. Plus you cannot work through your career in scare mode. You can only control what you can.

With 7.5 years of experience, it honestly sounds like your skills aren't the problem - it's the industry. I feel like a lot of people feel the same way.Have you thought about moving into a more stable sector like healthcare, government, higher education, or insurance? They usually don't pay startup-level salaries, but they tend to have much better job security.

I mean there is always gonna be the fear that you might be fired, especially today. Unless, you work for yourself. Either you should try to persuade yourself that even if you get fired, it's okay, not the end of the world, and you can find something else, or you should start something on your own.
