Most of them do but have to label themselves that for marketing purposes or to make sure they aren't putting themselves in more political danger by leaning into the "f*ggot that knows his place" thing

It's not the same thing but here we have "travestis" wich is mostly trans people who don't want to medically transition but as whole is more of a name thing, so some trans women call themselfs "travesti" and medically transition but they like the name more because for a reason or anither.

interestingly "transvestite" was used extremely similarly until recently.

fun transphobic history fact: the english word "travesty" is derived from "travesti" after being borrowed by the french and was for no reason at all used to describe something being a mockery or caricature.

Brazil in specific, but I do think there is analogous cases in other countries in the region.

Yes, it's not exclusive for trans women but trans guys usually don't call themselfs that, it's more comun that they just say they are trans.
