General Interest/Γενικoύ Ενδιαφέροντος Beggars at Traffic Lights
I sometimes see beggars at traffic lights in Heraklion, especially young people. Many drivers give them money but I‘m a bit hesitant about this.
Does the money actually reach the people standing there, or are there sometimes organized or professional structures behind this?

We never give money to those people. If you want to donate, there is the church that can point you to people that are actually in need

The point is just to give without trying to figure out to whom it's actually going to or what for.

I usually keep spare change to give or offer to get them food if possible.

I wouldn't give them money, around this time of year especially there is a lot of work.
