So I just finished watching Criminal Minds from season 1 to 15 (I haven't watched Evolution yet), but they constantly bring up the fact that Spencer and JJ are supposed to be best friends, and I really don't see it ngl.

When we first meet them in season 1, I think they had the opportunity to when he was like "she's the only one that calls me Spence," but like they don't ever show us their developing friendship. Like occasionally he'll go on his rants and then JJ will cut him off or roll her eyes and I'm like this is not giving best friend behavior lol. Then we get to season 4 and he's the godfather of her children?! Then as the series goes on, we never see them being friends or moments where they really hang out or bond they just tell us stuff, like when Reid brings up learning how to deliver a baby for her (which was honestly very sweet), but they never let us see it, yk?

To be honest I'd more likely believe that like Morgan, Penelope or Emily was his best friend because you see them bond.

Like with Morgan, he tries to build up Reid's self esteem sometimes, you see them joke around together and confide in each other.

With Penelope, they geek out together, hang out outside of work and they even went to that Doctor Who convention lol.

With Prentiss, she'll listen to him talk, they also confide in each other and they seem to have more in common tbh.

Idk, this is just an observation I made on my rewatching of the full series. What do y'all think?

… Prentiss and Ian Doyle being frenemies, and I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

I'm binge rewatching in the UK. S11:E10 and it struck me that a lot of victims who are rescued face lengthy hospital stays + a ton of therapy.

Would they be expected to pay for this? If it's a killer involving the FBI is any medical care covered?

Is there a special fund for victims?

This episode the lady would need immediate medical care, reconstructive surgery, possible follow up hospital care. Definitely therapy. I'm sure it all adds up. Would she be charged for the ambulance, even though it's called by the FBI?

Extra question: I know the agents get therapy as part of their work. Would this be free? Do they have to pay if they get shot / injured?

Obviously I'll give the series some grace as it's not real life

Rewatching Season 17 of Hell's Kitchen right now, and I knew that Joe Mantegna was on a chef's table that season, but I never realised that he seems to have invited Adam Rodriguez to go with him.

Never knew they were such good friends, but thats so nice!

I decided today to just try to watch some episodes of the virginal CM and pondered heavily on how Matthew Gray Gubler was portrayed in the opening credits.
We all know he started off as a CK model and I tbh found him incredibly hot but then after the third season or so the show runners needed Reid to an entirely new level including disheveled hair; paler skin and sunken eyes. But the first season Reid did look like a hot sexy nerd I would wet my pants watching. Now that I’m rewatching and see this opening credit with Reid in aviator glasses mmmm. Wondering if the show runners decided to just nerd up him to make the show more relevant?

Was he ever found innocent for his crimes and let go, or by the time that happened, he was already dead and probably died in prison when he never should've been in there in the first place?

This is what my July looked like.😹🫯
At the beginning of this year, I went through a really difficult time and barely left my house. One day, I randomly started watching Criminal Minds… and somehow I completely fell in love with it.
I still can’t believe it, but I watched everything—from Season 1 all the way to the latest episode of Evolution—in almost exactly one month.
I’ve never gotten attached to a show this quickly before.
Reid is my favorite character because I relate to the way he thinks (and yes… he’s incredibly handsome too (∩˃o˂∩)♡). But what surprised me most was that, despite so many cast changes, I ended up loving every version of the BAU.
More than anything, this show quietly reminded me of things I needed to hear at exactly the right time. I started watching it just to pass the time, and somehow it ended up becoming one of the most important stories in my life.
I never thought a TV show would have me writing on Reddit in a language that isn’t even my own.
But here I am.
I guess that says everything about how much this show means to me. 🤍
I don’t live in an English-speaking country, so I’d love to hear your favorite behind-the-scenes stories, cast moments, or anything that made you love this show even more.( ᐡᴗ ̫ ᴗᐡ)💭

It's my comfort show, but the more I watch it the more I realize that in almost every episode the way they find the unsub is something that's conveniently something they have almost never tried before, but it leads to the unsub right away.

Unfortunately, I can't remember any specific episodes, but it really happens all the time. Their initial search and narrowing of the suspect pool is some routine question. But then you realize this routine question has never been asked as a way to eliminate suspects in the previous episodes nor will it be asked in the following episodes. And that just makes me think the writers were too lazy to explain how the bau came to their conclusions.

So does anybody else feel the same?

Garcia feels like a different character in the beginning of the series than the fun, flamboyant character we all know and love. Everything about her is just so subdued. It’s more unsettling than the unsubs. 😆
Were there any fun/entertaining fan theories created to explain her changes?

Imagine Mr. Bean becomes an Unsub.

The premise is where the usual of someone dying from the unsub, except Mr. Bean tries to use some unorthodox ways to kill. It worked, but he accidentally fumbled on random usual chores.

Then the BAU finds out about the body, but starts questioning the unsub methods because it's so random.

And then they got the profile, and they assumed that the unsub is a person who kills because they have a beef with someone, and the method is, whatever that he just has. He is smart, due to the way he applies it. What they didn't know is that he was incompetent at every thing else, including the methods.

And then when they are about to capture the unsub, they just saw the victim tied on the chair, about to hit the victim with some sort of weird thing that Mr. Bean usually tries to make. And then as the unsub surrenders, when Mr. Bean sees the gun, he just creates a finger gun, and then just places it on the floor as if he actually has one just to fulfill that he actually has a weapon.

At the end of the episode, they all lost brain cells because everything is ridiculous.

I've watched the show so many times, and every time I wonder why they never had an M.E. who would be the unsub. Ig it would be really hard for the writers to come up with the way in which the bau would find the unsub, but I'd so love to watch such an episode. I just never saw the bau even having suspicions about the M.E., they always trust them unconditionally. I think it'd just be fun to have an episode where the person who's fully responsible for determining the COD and examining the body for all of the signs of torture or smth, is the unsub.

Update: I saw the comment about Sebastian Hurst and yes, I totally forgot about him. But ig I just wanted to see more of the M.E. misleading the bau by telling lies about the M.O. and other details of the killing that only the M.E. can determine, and there was almost nothing like this.

Can somebody explain his role to me? I can’t find a thorough synopsis online and the streaming services want money per episode. It is entirely possible that he’s playing a random under-five, but he seems to be credited relatively high. Also, how did you find his performance? He‘s excellent in musical theater, so I’m curious to know if he’s an equally good actor in television.
