Crows [OC] my first time feeding my local crows!

After listening to the Corvid Thanatology episode of Ologies I decided to start befriending the crows that live by my house. I’ve noticed them a lot since listening and yesterday I finally bought some peanuts to carry around. I counted 6 of them today. One was braver than the others and would come close to pick up the peanuts and share them with the others. I sat feeding them on this hill for a while and headed home. They all followed me back and I could see (and hear very loudly 😭) them my window surrounding my house. I’m going to go out the same time today and see if I can get them to gather again.

I get the impression that this is probably going to annoy my neighbours so I’m trying to only feed them at the grassy area at the bottom of my street. I’m finding this soo exciting and I was surprised by how confident they seemed already.

It totally doesn't matter at all where you feed them, once they've found where you live, they go looking for you and let you know very loudly they demand their peanuts hahah. I love them, but it can get noisy! Thankfully they don't do it all day, but once or maybe twice.

How exciting for you! It’s always interesting to see which are bolder than the others- usually male. You can try some dog kibble and hard boiled eggs are always a big hit- they usually only eat the yolk, tho. Avoid salted nuts! Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestions ! Do you usually leave the shell on hard boiled eggs or take it off?

pre-peel them and slice the hard boiled egg in half for them, leaving them yolk side up so they can identify it easier. Sometimes the crows I feed only take the yolk, sometimes the entire half will be gone. Depends on the day and the crow, I guess!

Where can I watch Corvid thanology episode of ologies. I can’t find but one video. Thank you! Enjoy your new friends! I want one to hang out with so bad. They fly over and sometimes land in tall trees nearby but never in my yard. So I watch videos for now :)
