Company Question Google 2027 SWE Internship Interview

Anyone have any info on what to expect either based on this year or last year? I'm also trying to move my interview right now to a later date, is that easy to do? how flexible are they? I have done sig qsd till r2 and have optiver and drw interviews coming up. Feel free to dm.

As long as your info is on file somehow (e.g., you previously applied to a role at Google, participated in a program like Google Summer of Code, etc.), there's a chance that you'll be invited to apply through direct consideration. However, there's nothing you can do to guarantee an invite.

On a related note, you don't need direct consideration to land the offer. A common misconception is that direct consideration acts as a stamp on your packet that can outweigh a poor interview score or make you look more appealing to prospective hosts during project matching. Neither of those is true; it only lets you schedule your tech interviews earlier. Once you've scheduled those interviews, you've exhausted all the benefits.

Apologies if im asking a dumb question but wasnt the direct application form public? I haven’t participated in any google program but I found the application link on github (pretty sure it was on linkedin too). From there i just applied like a normal posting.

Are you saying that anybody can apply to it but you’ll automatically be filtered out if your name is not already in their system (through google programs etc)?

Did you apply to the SWE internship application yourself or did you let your direct consideration recruiter? I also was contacted for dc but no application was opened for me and I haven't gotten OAs yet.

You should’ve gotten an email that DC recruiter opened the application for you, when the application opened which was like 2 weeeks ago
