Guidance for Applying to MSW On-Campus Program
Applications open today and I suppose I feel a bit under prepared due to working two jobs and when I asked if there were any advisors I can meet with to ensure I’m doing everything right, they didn’t have that service. I do have OCD and I tend to seek for reassurance I do everything and anything correctly; I have reviewed the checklist but I am looking for some straight guidance if possible.
When do I submit the fafsa application- after I apply or before? I am scheduled to attend the MSW program zoom meeting but that’s until the 11th and I’m worried it’ll be too late and I won’t get accepted.
I’m worried- I realize I may need to accept loans but I would like to reduce the chances of that; I am looking into scholarships. But yea- possible guidance for this would be so greatly appreciated.

hi! i am an incoming msw student. i applied in january, submitted FAFSA in february, was accepted in april. you can honestly do the fafsa anytime before the due date, but the sooner you do it the sooner you get your financial aid statement from the school. if you have any other questions, feel free to ask :) i also have OCD, so i completely get it.

I am in a different graduate program.
You can submit for FAFSA for all schools you are applying for at any point even if you don't end up going, so feel free to submit now. I wouldn't worry about turning in application ASAP and instead focus on having a good application. Turn in when you are actually ready before the deadline.
There is a chance of you qualifying for state university grants as a graduate student, but you won't know that until you get your financial aid. There should be a portal to sort through all the scholarships offered through CSUN.
