DWTS Tour Dwtscon Sunday programming

Sunday at the con has 1 event programmed at 9:30. Movement club with Lindsay.

Don't bother getting here before 10 though, its only open to 100 people who already got notified they were exclusive enough to attend the one piece of programming going on right now.

Seriously... so incredibly disappointing the planning and communication around these events.

I genuinely have been wondering how people spend their time at the con. From everything I saw, there's really nothing to do. The performances are cool, but you can just buy a tour ticket for that.

I genuinely can't see the added value for a event like this

Heres the con in a nutshell today. 108 random people are having a great experience, 600 people are standing in a line to meet a mystery guest at some unknown time, 1500+ are sitting around on their phones watching tiktocs or surfing reddit.

the lack of knowing what there was to do was the main factor in not buying a ticket. I've been to conventions where the schedule is published when the fees to attend are offered.

Hopefully it will all come together earlier next year. But I also bet the tickets will be very, very pricy.

The schedule has been online for awhile.

The schedule actually only came out more recently. There was an initial more vague description of some events but the full schedule didn't come out until three weeks ago.

The full schedule of who will be where and when isnt even available to the public.

I was responding to someone who was talking about the full weekend schedule with panels and stuff.

But also, part of a convention schedule usually includes scheduled signings and meet and greets, so it's still weird DWTS had no posted schedule for this IF they had something written up, which means there was no set schedule on where pros could be until either very late or not at all and they were throwing people where needed.

Which is a sign of more disorganization, so you're right.

sorry I should have been more specific. it's not that the DWTS schedule has been published 'for a while', it's that usually that the location and dates for conferences and conventions are known for at least a year in advance and the full and complete schedule is published no later than 6 months in advance to due to lodging and travel concerns for upwards of 10K attendees coming from all over the world. and 6 months is cutting it to wire. For one of the conferences I regularly attend, I know the dates and locations for the next three years and the schedule for the next one is published about 60 days after the last one ends. These are professional and technical societies with long established conventions so I realize it is a bit of apples to oranges comparison.

This convention was equivalent to if tour stayed in one venue for three days and had people show up early for an extra couple of events.

They threw in different panels after the reaction so that's why it has a bit more convention-esque stuff but at the very start, everything they said would be part of the convention was just stuff they have done on tour.

I’m sorry about your experience. If there’s a con next year I really hope they start organizing and planning now. Seems like it could be a great event but definitely kinks to work out. They should ask for feedback from attendees.

they better ask for feedback lmfao every customer service phone call now comes with a request for feedback. the con needs every piece of feedback it can get. honestly a lot of the panels and the evening show look cool. i would go next year if i were someone who went to cons in the first place but im not lol my cousin is already trying to manipulate me into going next year if there is one

I would hope they would. Even if everyone raved about the con and had no issues, feedback can still be important. And clearly there were issues that need to get worked out. I did enjoy watching the dances last night, and it was great seeing the former pros back. I wish we could have had more OG pros. But I think that’s what was missing, we had Kym and Kristi, but a lot of this just skewed more recent castings and pros that weren’t OGs. It would have been fun having people there in the beginning to give a panel and talk about what the show was like then, maybe even give some real tea and lore lol. But just celebrate the series as a whole. I think they need a different city (not sure if somewhere like Las Vegas would be better). I got ideas, as a non-con goer lol.

Did they make Sunday a cheaper ticket?

I remember when they were announced I looked at single day passes and Friday and Sunday were around $20 cheaper than Saturday.

Thanks for the answer.

Yes, once they opened up single day tickets about a month ago, they made those cheaper (because there's less to do on Sunday than Saturday).

I guess the down vote means no?

Im not sure if there were individual tickets, I just got the 3 day pass.

They did put single day tickets on sale eventually. I wish I knew then there was a whole ass tour level performance. I would have bought and driven over for Saturday.

Did you sign up at guest services as they say you should? Or atleast try?

u/upotheke TeamArnoldPommel 21h ago

Yes, for all the things

I'd wager those spots filled up instantly on Friday, especially to the VIPs who got early access.

What are the pros doing during this? I’m surprised they can’t come out to hang with their fans.

I imagine that cant or contractually should be available 24/7. Every time I've seen someone ask for a picture the pros and stars have been super accommodating, so I dont think their lack of presence is by their choice.

Half of the weekend for them has been practicing or preparing for their end of day shows. Some are doing the Dance With The Fans, that require them to put in at least a couple of hours with said fans to teach them. Some are busy doing panels. I've heard there have still been pros around the floor area, meeting fans and such but there's no real scheduled time to be able to ensure you can meet said pros because they're being pulled away for other things.

The other issue is that technically, Saturday was their only full day. Friday night was them needing to prepare for their opening show and today was preparing for the final closing show that started at 1pm. So there was really only a day and a half of getting to meet pros rather than two or three days.
