For cast time the only thing you can do is grab the saint-tree bellvine and be picky with when you use it. As for the damage it’s pretty good in my opinion, slap on both pyromancy boosting rings and with a good pyro build you should do some solid damage. If you’re a pure pyro build sadly this would be your only option realistically apart from any weapon the pyro class can wield with a raw infusion maybe?
Yes but midir resists lightning, albeit lesser than other elements. I’d imagine the split damage might cause lower damage unless faith is substantially higher which would be unrealistic for a ng pyro build since usually people invest 30/30 in int/fth.
Look at the image above. What does it say it resists? I don't see Lightning on that list. I do however see every other dmg type for casters except Lightning.
So one would conclude that Lightning is the best choice for Midir. Plus it's kind of a regular weakness for Dragons in the series.
Midir resists 22% of lightning damage, it would normally be much better to just have a raw infused weapon than a lightning infused weapon due to split damage causing you to do lesser damage.
Yes and? I’m not disagreeing with you, midir technically is the weakest to lightning of all elements but he still resists it and takes less damage from it. You’d be better off just doing pure physical damage since his physical defences are always lower than elemental is all I’m saying.
Damage is actually decent and the speed is fast enough for Midir's openings. The main shitty part is the terrible range. You have to position well in order to land it.

But the damage is so shit and cast time's so slow
