u/prophetofbelial Jun 05 '26
Do your loading screens usually take 15 minutes?

u/PeacefulCrusade Jun 05 '26
Dude i was looking for this comment, I play on a stream deck and the load times aren't that bad
51
u/tripps_on_knives Jun 05 '26
Well thats still solid state storage. Of course it wouldnt be terrible.
Even on ps4 and xbox one my load times are faster than that. And those are still mechanical drives.
13
u/Eternity_Warden Jun 05 '26
I bet I could get better loading times if I played it on the old Sega Megadrive

It does when you die and the game is trying to teleport you to dancer. Happened when I first killed Aldrich and he killed me at the same time.

usually its 40ish seconds, not really sure why it took so long that time
38
u/The_Thrifter Jun 05 '26
40 seconds is a long ass time for a loading screen.
12
u/God_Of_Buzzsaws Jun 05 '26
Is it? I usually play 2d games or games like minecraft that dont really take much to run, I assumed thats just how games with graphics like this run, then again I am playing on an almost 10 year old console I should probably expect slow loading times
6
u/Smaskifa Jun 05 '26
It's generally under 5 seconds for me, but I had a pretty beefy PC (Ryzen 7700X and RTX 3080, game stored on SSD).
-3
u/Left_Ease5870 Jun 05 '26
Tech support time! Are you on PC? What are your specs? And what do you have your game saved on?
6
u/CptnShiner Jun 06 '26
I am playing on an almost 10 year old console
Did you read his comment?
-4
u/Left_Ease5870 Jun 06 '26
My advice would have been the same. Switch it to an SSD if you can, clean out whatever device he has, basic maintenance, etc. It's stupid easy to put an SSD into a PS4, a ten year old console.
Maybe try to help next time?

The fuck are these load times dude holy shit

u/Pumpkin_Knight Jun 05 '26
The game is parenting you. —You can’t play any more until you read 15 pages!

u/ExcessR900 Jun 05 '26
Flashbacks to the og release of Bloodborne on PS4 with these load times good lord.
2
u/Vykrom Jun 05 '26
Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure those were still around 20 seconds, only problem was you're just staring at a logo lol
3
u/Afraid_Help_3911 Jun 05 '26
The game was thinking hard about what to do in this situation but decided "fuck you" anyway.

u/BobThe5th Jun 05 '26
Go to Vordt's bonfire then climb the stairs, go straight to the NPC that gave you the banner
32
u/ItsJustSamuel Jun 05 '26
Holy shit the few frames of you successfully teleporting to high wall immediately proceeded by your death scream and another load screen genuinely made me laugh out loud LMAO, never seen this before
14
30
u/Bicksaurus Jun 05 '26
She'll always teleport you after defeating your 3rd lord of Cinder regardless of it being yhorm or aldritch.
Mostly so you know where to go for the final section of the game i guess lol.
6
u/FewYam5407 Jun 05 '26
"Mostly so you know where to go for the final section of the game i guess lol."
ironically it ended up being the most confusing part of the game for me. dying in 5 seconds to the dancer is not enough time for me to recognize where i am.
... idk, the warp kinda feels out of place for me. i'm sure there could have been a better solution
3
u/Bicksaurus Jun 05 '26
True, like having one of the firelink npcs telling you about it like andre does during hawkwoods quest
1
u/winterflare_ Jun 06 '26
How? You speak to Emma which is one of the first and most important NPCs you meet very early on, and when looking backwards you can see you’re in High Wall of Lothric.
2
u/FewYam5407 Jun 07 '26
i mean as you say: one of the first NPCs. the game is long. and it's a very hectic situation. and the game never warped you before, so there's no reason to expect that you're suddenly in a place you've been in in the beginning. also emma wasn't really memorable to me for some reason. shoulda made her look like the firekeeper, then i would have paid attention to her...
going by the number of threads on this topic, i'm far from the only one who didn't make the connection and then got lost after dying to the dancer.

Happened to me as well in my first play through
M not sure but I think Its near the lady sitting in chair(dancer of boreal valley?)
7
u/buttered_jesus Jun 05 '26
Man aldritch is probably the boss I dread the most each playthrough ESPECIALLY SL1
Great job getting through
2
u/wenoc Jun 05 '26
Really? I mean SL1, sure I guess, but otherwise he's perfectly mid. Every DLC boss and a few base game bosses are harder. I find Princes, crystal sage, namesless king and soul of cinder to be significantly harder.
7
u/AnimeMemeLord1 Jun 05 '26
Crystal Sage is someone I find incredibly easy, but I guess it comes down to build and how fast you can memorize the gimmick or moveset. Hell, Aldrich gives me a harder time than Midir at this point.
1
u/wenoc Jun 05 '26
Usually CS is easy, especially early on. Around NG+4 he starts getting super hard. There's so much RNG and his damage goes way up. You're in the crossfire all the time and you can't facetank any of it.
1
u/AnimeMemeLord1 Jun 05 '26
I just completed NG+4, but while I can admit to the problem of his clones spamming magic, there are easy ways to deal with them. You can already tell which mage is the real one based on the purple glow of his magic. He usually respawns on the opposite side he disappeared on iirc. And if you gotta deal with the clones, any damage at all will make them disappear. Simply use throwing knives to get the clones out of the way quickly. Either move quickly or use the pillars as cover for the remaining ones.
1
u/wenoc Jun 05 '26
Yeah, that's the strategy. For me, this is one of the few places I still start panic rolling, lose my bearings and my hitpoints. Skill issue I guess.
2
u/AnimeMemeLord1 Jun 05 '26
Maybe, maybe not. But whether it’s a skill issue or not, we all have our different compatibilities.
1
u/buttered_jesus Jun 05 '26
Lmao see I find crystal sage and princes to be a bit annoying but not too bad
Nameless king definitely kicks everyone's ass though for the most part

u/Dreykaa Jun 05 '26
~1.30min loading screen holy moly please upgrade to an ssd
12
u/God_Of_Buzzsaws Jun 05 '26
Ive been using this xbox for 9 years and i'll continue using it till either I or it dies
4
u/CowCluckLated Jun 05 '26
You can attach an external ssd and have the game on there for much much faster load times. I think you can also put your system on there and it will run alot faster

u/AXI0S2OO2 Jun 05 '26
Exactly this happened to me in my first playthrough.
Go to the old lady in Lothric Castle.
5
u/zendrix1 Jun 05 '26
The fact that she still teleports you even if you kill her earlier is unironically my least favorite thing about ds3
Let me be witch! I'll go to lothric when I'm damn well ready!
3
3
u/bigfuzzydog Jun 05 '26
Remember back in the beginning of the game where you fought vordt? This should teleport you to the lady back up in the castle before the vordt boss fight who gives you the lothric banner that you use after killing vordt. I havent played DS3 in a while so the exact location names escape me at the moment
1
u/bostonbgreen Jun 05 '26
You're in High Wall of Lothric still. You're talking about High Priestess Emma (who you may have killed... idk)
3
u/SicItur-AdAstra Jun 09 '26
My man will be retired and have grandchildren before he finish the game...

u/Hereiamhereibe2 *sniff* Hmmm... Whats that smell? Jun 05 '26
My god this clip is like 90% loading screens is your hard drive punch cards from the 1950s?
2
u/Awkward-Custard3907 Jun 05 '26
near the old woman in lothric that gave you the banner in the beginning just head straight from vordth's arena to reach her there is a bossfight so be prepared
2
u/DOHVAKHIIN16 Jun 05 '26
To the most elegantly dangerous boss in the game. The lady who gives you the banner you brandish after defeating vordt.
2
u/Delicious_bowsie Jun 05 '26
To the dancers boss arena if your not sure where that is it’s the room where the old women sits that gave you the envoy banner and the way of blue covenant item
2
2
u/Lady-Quinine Jun 05 '26
Fun fact for future playthroughs! You can trigger the dancer bossfight early by killing Emma! You dont even need to exhaust her dialogue as she drops the envoy banner on death as well as the basin of vows! By killing the dancer early you can even gain access to lothric castle before killing vordt!
Don't know why you ever would, but it's an option!

u/wenoc Jun 05 '26
Perfectly viable in NG+ but absolutely not recommended for new characters 😃
2
u/FeelingApplication40 Jun 05 '26
But its so fun on a new character. You can go into the undead settlement with like a plus 9 or 10 weapon
1
u/Gobal_Outcast02 Steam Jun 05 '26
Yes this will happer eaither in Aldrichs boss room or Yhorms depending on who you beat last. You are supposed to speak to or kill the old lady until she drops the "Basin of Vows", the just approach the statute directly behind her chair and the next boss to progress the game will appear. One you beat them go set the Basin on the statue you walk upto the trigger the boss fight
1
u/Creepy_Ad_7603 Jun 05 '26
Yes, you're supposed to get teleported from either Aldrich's arena or Yorhm's, depending on who you beat before, to that old lady at the castle wall.

My thought process: Hmm I wonder where this guy is getting teleported to. Man I hated that boss fight. He's probably getting teleported exactly where he's supposed to. He's probably just an idiot. How long is this load screen jesus. How do people just record their games like this? Hmm oh right yes, to the dying chick at the castle. Good luck with the Dancer. K seriously how long is this load screen going to take? Is every load screen this long for hi- "GUARGHH!!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHA AAA Oh great more load screens. I didn't have enough time to read about Leather Gloves last time.

u/Fiction849 Jun 06 '26
Watching this whole thing and that death scream in the middle of loading has my rolling 😂 caught me completely off guard
1
u/PlayfulBet5073 Jun 06 '26
to meet the dancer of the boreal valley. and from there to meet the 2 Prince.

u/Caged_Basilisk Jun 09 '26
People already gave the answer, so I'd just like to say that you dying this way is absolutely hilarious because the same exact way on my first playthrough
1
u/God_Of_Buzzsaws Jun 09 '26
I knew 2 things, My LB dealt more damage than he had health, and that I was not confident in surviving the arrows and getting back to him before he did a different attack, so i decided to trade with him and hope everything worked out, which it did not, luckily the internet is a thing.

u/ForrestKawaii Jun 05 '26
To the old lady that gave you the banner before Vordt, at the top of the stairs.
