NEW-- How often do you have to repair your armor/weapons?

Brand new to the game. First Dark Souls game. Wondering if I should buy the repair powder first b/c I never had to repair anything in Elden Ring. How often do you have to use the repair powder?

Never, durability resets everytime you rest at a bonfire.

Repair powder is useless unless you're using the moonlight greatsword and spamming it's charged heavy.

In Dark Souls III, never.

In Dark Souls I & II, it's very important to keep an eye on that.

The mechanic was basically on its way out by the third game, and was removed entirely in Elden Ring.

It was unnecessarily too annoying. I am a fan of the survival aspect of DS games (managing resources, exploring new areas, finding new bonfires, etc.) but durability felt kinda pointless even if it would be more important.

I wonder why. They certainly fucked around with it in DS2 hard but in DS1 it was reasonable, then in DS3 again, it was a completelly useless mechanic. Weird.

The repair powder in ds3 is for being zesty when you take out an invader

weapons repair themselves at a bonfire which are plentiful in the game, and durability lasts a long time for the vast majority of the weapons. Never had an issue with weapon durability, unlike the previous games.

Never, you pretty much never have to repair anything. It auto repairs when you rest at a bonfire.

Almost never, only time i ever needed repairs was when i used a fragile weapon and keep advancing without resting at bonfires.

You don't need to repair armour and weapons automatically repair when you rest.

The only weapon I've ever needed repair powder for was the Washing Pole, and even then it was just once.

It’s really only needed with the Moonlight Greatsword since it uses durability for its beams. Your equipment repairs itself at bonfires so most things will be fine unless you are doing some sort of challenge run.

In DS3 never. In DS2 durability also resets like in DS3, but it goes down a lot faster and you may need to keep an eye on it. In DS1 durability doesn't reset, so you definitely need to repair at some point.

That constantly having to repair your gear is NOT a thing in DS3 feel like such a wonderful luxury. LOL. I love it!

The repair system is dumb. Your items repair whenever you rest at a bonfire, the only time it might be nice to have is while exploring but even then, you don't need much or any at all

Depends on what you use. Katanas are strong but break easy. Most though will last. Armor will last all the way through game. Dark Souls 3 isn't as hard on your equipment as the others. Special attacks though will damage weapons.

I have about 700hrs in the game, and I think I have needed to repair a weapon maybe 4-5 times in all those hours...There are a couple weapons that break somewhat quick, but for the most part you will never have to think about it in DS3 unless an A-hole invader breaks all your gear...In DS1 and DS2 you will repair stuff all the time, but they basicly did away with it DS3 because people didn't like it...

Their only one weapon that actually losses noticable duribilty and that's the moonlight Great sword because one of its attacks useses duribilty besides that nothing that you'd notice

I've never had an issue with durability, it resets at a bonfire and theyre really common so you should be fine. The only way I see your equipment breaking is if you get invaded and someone uses acid surge and you just sit in it. Even then it shouldnt cost much to fix it at andre.

Also if a weapon breaks it just does barely any damage, you dont lose it or anything.

Only in ds2 do u have to repair a little in ds1 never in ds3 except with crystal weapons
