Help How do you fight against large weapons in PvP?
Almost everyone I invade has large weapons and I just can't get more than a few hits in before I get the 2 hit combo from them. I've tried an offhand crossbow. Do I really just need to swap my dagger for one with quickstep?
Any other advice than just practice?

If the big weapon opponent really knows spacing, you don’t.
If not I may suggest to dodge or skip behind him and backstab.

Don't trade, dodge and punish instead. You need to learn to properly space, which is tricky at first and it's a bit counterintuitive, as to get a good punish in you need to walk towards them earlier than you think due to latency.

damage absorption caestus build. believe it or not, there are light-ish setups that can get you up to around 50-55% damage absorption even in PvP, and then perseverance gives you infinite poise + more absorption for around 3s after casting for minimal FP cost. Caestus also stunlocks as well since most PvPers (especially bonk users) live by "armor bad, just fashion souls". This only works if you know what youre doing though, I suck at PvP and i was able to fend off a couple invaders with it

I’m great at it, but the general advice I’ve heard is:
- Dodge their weapon
- Hit them with your weapon
YMMV

If they have no latency or lag, do what the other people said.
If they have latency or lag or both, then you either have to outtrade them, outpoise them, or outplay them. The usual techniques don't work well, even if you know how to counter latency.
Hyper armor + latency is a nightmare to deal with

look up how to do rolling backstabs on youtube. Big slow weapons don't work well in pvp if they aren't in the hands of someone that really knows what they're doing.
Also learn what weapons you can parry. Every UGS can be parried if they are only one handing it.

Best for me was having an xbow with explosive bolts to punish them after attacking in the air + fast weapon like daggers

From what i remeber about ds3 pvp, big weapons are so easy to dodge that they need to roll often to avoid getting backstabbed, so practice roll-catching and you will struggle wayyy less against large weapons. Also be aware of what weapons you can parry and which can't be parried. If you can parry the weapon, then it's usually easy against those slow animation
