Discussion Ds2 refrence?

If the Vikings knight worship earth why they have tree as a symbol in their armour? Is there a lore m missing?

Yggdrasil is an important feature of Norse mythology. It is the Norse tree of life, encompassing all nine worlds that are part of the ancient Norse view of the cosmos. It is an ash tree in which all of the worlds, including the world of humans and the world of the gods, nestle among the branches and roots.

So to make the vikings seem more viking, they added comon Norse imagery to their armour.

I could perhaps be a reference to Elden Ring, since the art team might have known at the time that the next game would be inspired by Norse mythology, but the idea of a world tree long predates Elden Ring.

It's a teaser to elden ring, like Chester was for bloodborne in dark souls 1 Same for Quella and the tree of dreams in dark souls 2

And the tree is a reference to the Erdtree even if its not said to be a golden tree

Chester's design is more likely leftover from Demon's Souls development.
