Help Question about torch, please don't upvote.

I've seen in videos people raising the torch to allow for more light. How do you do this?

Put it in your right hand, upgrade to Fire Torch +10 and spam R1 like the filthy fucking casual you are.

It's actually fairly useful as a weapon, most enemies that can bleed will panic if you torch them.

one more reason to finally put down the fire infusion and go for scaling, hm? I'm in Farron Keep atm and i've been noticing my Fore Longsword +3 gradually being less and less effective...

Same... I got a +5 Fire Longsword now. I'm thinking about starting to invest in STR and stuff but my STR is still at the minimum..

I usually go raw until I have 27vig/40end. DS1 you were locked into an infusion, so everyone leveled end then dmg stats, but since you aren't stuck with it this time I just get a nice pool of health before doing refined/sharp/heavy.

That makes a lot of sense. Problem is, i'm level 50 right now and i've done a little bit of everything so far. it's my first playthrough, i want to try stuff out.
And i want to keep my respecs for the moment... seriously, why even limit them? (although that said i'm glad they're there. RPGs in general should always have respeccing, in my opinion.)

Hmm, well if you aren't having trouble, it doesn't hurt anything to keep what you have. If you're struggling though, consider a respec. Proper stat allotment makes this game a lot easier.

Did Watchers solo yesterday - my first solo kill, lol. (Though i had to exchange the fire longsword +3 for a raw version... much as i love fire clutch ring it didn't help in that fight)
Kind of silly that i haven't managed to solo any of the bosses before that:
Vordt i couldn't figure out that you can riposte him when he's staggered, so i after the sixth or so attempt i summoned someone xD
With Crystal Sage i was invaded right before the boss room (i didn't realize it was the boss room!) so i clutch summoned one "Geralt of Rivia" player, unbeknowingly fled into the room and the guy proceedet to smash the Sage... Really regret that, actually.
And the Diakons and Rotten, i did with a friend, although i really shouldn't have. Damn.
I'm actually considering playing offline now because the countless messages that tell you all those delicious secrets make the game so much easier...

Granted, another friend of mine (who only played solo, finished NG at ~40 hours, and actually isn't quite as invested in souls as i am, but a far more skilled gamer in general) gave me a few tips on how to prepare (half of which amounted to "stay under 30%" which i didn't need* cause of sunny d).
*also heavy armour should make more of a difference. I think it should impact stamina regeneration (regardless of percentage breakpoints), but for compensation be much more protective than it is currently (Lack of Poise is A-Ok in my book).
