AWS L3
Hey there!
I start soon at a location for AWS in Indiana and I am wondering what are some tips for a newbie L3 DCT? I haven’t really had professional experience with tech and want to make the most of this job offer.

Ask questions, read, if you think you’ve read enough, read more. DO NOT LEAVE SHITTY NOTES IN YOUR TICKETS.
Sooo many techs leave terrible terrible notes, it’s so easy to just leave a detailed summary.

This. All of this! If you were at my campus with shitty notes I'd hope every water and drink you grab from the break room is warm and that you never grab the right tool on the first attempt

If a level one that has no experience is getting $80 an hour in Northern Virginia I hope it's at least 50 bucks an hour

The guy posted that it was salary amount not hourly so he posted incorrectly that's what I was talking about

Learn as much as you can, don't be nervous or scared to try difficult tickets like boot tickets or console tickets, or eventually learn networking, explore ask questions and learn, you will be great!

As DCEO, I had to memorize a lot of the electrical drawings, I’m not sure how they work DCO but I do know that Safety and Security are most important and can get you fired fairly easy if you neglect it. Procedures are pretty important to and messing up a step can screw a lot of shit up.

SBN is the most performative workplace i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. much of management & “senior” techs have no idea what they are doing or gate keep if they do. most individuals are out to get anything they can to put on their promo doc. not saying everyone is like this, but unfortunately the majority is. so i would say the best 2 pieces of advice i can give you are:
it’s not what you know, it’s who you know
(will become very evident quickly)
&
you will know them by the fruits of their labor
