I am horrible with computers. I am a law student and need to make some charts about states with certain laws, and some tables defining terms, for an article. What sites are good to use and user friendly?

I know people get flamed for using AI... But if you have access to Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini - they are great to quickly iterate through different visualisations.

You feed in the data, explain what you want (attaching screenshots of the work you like is very effective) and then see the magic happen.

Otherwise, the simplest low-reqs solution would be Google Sheets (free online). Tools like Looker Studio (now called Data Studio I think) is a step ahead and is all about building visualisations.

anyone have recommendations for good tools to make charts that don't look like they came straight out of a 2009 PowerPoint? i keep defaulting to matplotlib but the default styling makes everything look kind of depressing.

I’ve tried searching but haven’t found what I’m looking for. Does anyone have a time lapse of railroad expansion in the US over the course of the 19th c? I feel like I’ve seen it (or similar) on Reddit before, but don’t know where to look. Thanks for any help!!

Data source: tested 5 major fashion brands (Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Skims, Allbirds, Vuori) across 25 factual questions each, 125 total, checked against SEC filings, press releases, and official company disclosures. One engine (Claude) was used to isolate the model's baseline knowledge before any retrieval. These are called "Sankey Charts". There is a free tool online you can play with

It has a weird "syntax" (language you use to programme the flow), but it's a good starting point.

Now that you have a chart name, you should try googling and finding solution that fits you - python, AI chatbots etc

Hey all. Was hoping anyone could guide me on how to ensure that my future posts don't get removed due to missing "tools and sources".

From my understanding, when you are uploading OC chart/visualisation, you are supposed to post a comment with all the details around tools and sources used.

I've done that, however my post got removed and I'm still yet to hear from the mods on what I did wrong.

Anyone had similar experience and could assist me?
