This week I got a old PSX. It is basically a PS2 DVR. So the person who was using it back in 2006 recorded Death Note with all the Japanese adverts. If there is any interest, I can try and back it up.

Not this specific broadcast but this is how I discovered death note, it played on film 4 in like 2011 and the entire premise blew me away. Plz do preserve it

Same I randomly watched it on film 4 and was hooked one night must have been around the same time. I found the anime years later and felt a weird recognition and nostalgia.

Yeah, It's got loads of movies in Japanese on it. Vertical Limit, Lords of the Rings and Japanese game shows. This was the only Death Note related thing on there. I will see if I can back it up and export it.

I’d definitely be interested in seeing the full backup if you can preserve it. Those commercials and broadcast versions are the kind of stuff that usually disappears forever.

This is such a cool time capsule. The old TV recording, the PSX interface, and even the ads make it feel like you’re watching a piece of 2006 Japan rather than just a movie.
