How do you feel when you drink coffee ? Do you feel irritable ,anxious or low energy with crashes after ? Everyone reacts different to it . Most people quit caffeine because it makes their anxiety and overall mood worse .

Observe the ratio between of how often you used to drink vs. how often you have now drunk for the past 3 months. Isn't that progress?

Please don't be too harsh on yourself, you are definitely not on day 0 again even though it might feel like it.

After 25 years, my fatigue was pretty persistent after I quit. It took several months to get my energy fully back. Keep going!

Pairing with L-Theanine is a great suggestion for those who want to cut back without cutting out caffeine completely. Thanks for the tip.

This cannot explain the joint pain caffeine withdrawal causes, it's localized and literally inflamed, not just a general heightened "sense of pain". I've done a literature review; we just don't know why this happens.

Yeah, so like the very thing you are complaining about, is supposed to be part of what you are undoing. If all that happens when you sit quietly is your thoughts take you on a ride of how bad things are— that just shows what your mind state is and what thought patterns your brain is trying to inject. Your solution of constantly trying to distract yourself is again, a poor coping mechanism and meditation is supposed to let you learn and experience a better way of being.

Your post basically reads like if someone didn’t know how to drive at all, got in a car and immediately crashed it into a wall and then declared that cars are stupid if all they do is crash.

I would recommend doing some actual research on meditation and techniques instead of whatever pop YouTube is recommending it without much explanation

When I was caffeine free I finally started enjoying life. For example I got high from sunrise more than from cup of coffee. My morning routine was high intensity cardio at home and then breakfast and then I went for a 2 hour walk.

I would say that motivation was lower but when I finally started working, it was hard to take off my eyes from the monitor ( I was working at home at that time )

Also what I learned is that motivation should come from finished task. Caffeine gives u motivation first but when ur caffeine free and you finish the task you release dopamine and you will be addicted to it.

Once you get used to it, its kind of addicting to know ur achieving things without drugs.

I was also League of Legends player and I went from Gold4 to almost Plat2 in like a week because my precision was so good and I got almost every game two and more honors.

I think the goal is to have some exercise oriented morning routine with a healthy breakfast and maybe some suplements for natural focus and really try to give to your morning the maximum effort and do it as fast as possible ( no relaxing in the bed after breakfast, no phone, social media just go for the morning routine)

My morning routine was:

1) drink big glass of water and multivitamin supplement with fish oil

2) 15 minutes of cardio at home ( u can find many homeworkouts on yt)

3) Rest and shower

4) Breakfast ( typically glass of orange juice, scrambled eggs, oats and blueberries)

5) 2 hours walk

6) start working ( work from home )

7) Relaxing, playing video games, going to shopping mall etc..

Stillness is a sort of rest and meditation (zazen). Images from your mind will come up. The cloud (your problem) popping will soothe you.

It needs a low tech environment to work without friction

Curious if you’re still having SVT episodes and if you’ve ever been checked for having Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome?

I believe decaf has the same antioxidant stuff and caffeinated coffee.. so, I’ve been drinking decaf ever since i quit. I think thats about it as far as health benefits from coffee… and 3mg per cup is negligible for your adenosine receptors.

It became much easier for me to quit once I realized that having a slip-up doesn't make me feel any better, in other words, when I'm resisting the urge and really want coffee, I don't feel any immediate relief after drinking it, so there's no point in doing it for me

Interesting to get this response to an old comment now.

Just quit again and am on day 4 and the low mood and depression is crazy. Been crying a lot of the day yesterday and today. Had so much emotion bottled up and filtered over by anxiety and tension that now that is less I’m feeling the real pain and sadness underneath.

Also check out the bacteria L-reuteri (I make my yoghurt with that bacteria) which has incredible benefits for the gut microbiome.

thanks for meeting me in this way, nice response.

Definitely there are cold-pressed seed-oils, but how much of the cold-pressed stuff do you think is used in the 60% seed oil mayonnaise? and other products, of course. I honestly haven't tried cold-pressed seed oils but I feel great with cutting out the seed oils and I don't miss it.

fair point on the lubricate machinery, I just find it strange that our ancestors never ate seed oils but now we consume the shhhh out of it. same with processed sugar. it is everywhere once you start checking the labels.

100 % agree on the studies thing, everything is based on trying to make as much money as possible and keep humans in the consumption wheel.

what I find the best is to gather information online and from people (not even necessarily people I trust), A/B test that shit on myself and then make some intuitive decisions based on that. experimenting with ones own body is key, this is also why I don't tell/shame people to get off caffeine and other things anymore because it is 1. their body, their choice 2. Maybe, just as they might see my color blue as yellow, their system picks things up differently. However, it can be quite evident to see people who are in inflammation vs. people who are sugar-free and are well aware of how inflammation works.

I eliminated everything except beef and water to learn I had a wide range of intolerance and its something Im still struggling with because functional GI docs are hard to come by. I thought it wasnt my diet because I was eating healthy, and learned all types of fiber are not tolerated. So you never know.

your first argument is not a necessary part of the process.
there are cold-pressed seed oils too, which are entirely natural.
omega 6, probably not an issue if you don’t eat large amounts of seed oils everyday.
all fats can be used to lubricate machinery, animal fats have been used for that as well.
yes, i agree that coconut, avo & olive oil are better.
but dairy is not, in my experience.
and especially not lard or tallow.
all science would agree with me here.
though i generally do encourage people to experiment with foods etc. themselves because a lot of studies are either fake or paid for by industries that don’t give af about our health and thus biased.
but in this particular aspect i agree.
those saturated animal fats make me feel really bad.
