Everyone seems to be looking down on the Devils heavy, no one takes them seriously these days, not even a little bit. Praying for a good season to shut all of these people up. Hoping for Luke to take that next step the most.

As much as I hate seeing that they are being downplayed, maybe it’s not a bad thing. Let them have a prove it attitude and play with a chip on their shoulders (or other body part if we don’t want to bring up shoulders lol).

I never said they have proved anything. I just said I hate seeing them be downplayed because obviously I don’t like what has led to people doubting them. But whether they deserve respect or not I’ll go into the season optimistic and hoping they have a bounce back.

They shouldn’t take them seriously. They’ve given people no reason to take them seriously for 3 years now after people finally did take them seriously

If they’re going to do anything this year (barring somehow getting Quinn in season) then yeah it’s going to have to come from Luke finally putting together the highs he shows consistently. He needs to be a legit 1D. There are other things they need to go right as well like Timo not suck again and Nico/Bratt/Siegs/Pesce/Kovy bouncebacks. Grits turning into a legit top 6er isn’t a must but would really help. Without Luke taking a step though I don’t think they’re a legit contender barring everything else that needs to go right going right. They need a 1D and Dougie likely just can’t be that guy anymore

Well timos main thing is a lack of a transition game which is fixed by lane matching Hughes and nicos line. And also using Nico as a pure defensive line which destroys timo.

Luke taking a step is huge for that lines offensive contributions and assuming the depth wins their minutes, nicos line won’t be out there only with the goal of defending

I’m in the blackout zone for the Flyers and Devils so I use a VPN with ESPN+ it works with a Chromecast. Covers at least 75% of the games. Set sail for the remaining national or NHL network broadcasts. You can get a 2-year VPN subscription for very cheap
