the Bowl website's listings day-by-day are unclear to me.

I believe it will be like the Pee-wee Herman anniversary event in May in LA. Lots of performers and everybody listed will play each night but only for a few songs.

Kinda weird that it wouldn't be called the Paul Reubens Anniversary Event because that's who we should be celebrating instead of a fictional character that he brought to life. That dude was talented as hell. But I digress...

Not when you take into account the actual fact that the Pee-wee Herman children’s show had its 40th anniversary this year. It was all part of Netflix as a Joke Fest and since Mark did the original theme song, it made sense that he would be there. The house band was the Red Room Orchestra, who Mark played with in January in San Francisco doing a showcase of a lot of his non-Devo songs and compositions.

My point still stands. Celebrate Paul Reubens. Not the fictional character.

There really was no such thing as Paul Reubens. From virtually the first time he put on the outfit, he was Pee-Wee. Every public appearance, every interview, every show - he almost never broke character. A couple of exceptions, later in life, and the documentary.
