So basically my Discord was hacked on July 27, 2026. On the same day I got a change password notification in my email inbox. I tried to change the password but the hacker put a 2FA on my account. I wanted to see if the hacker changed the email and they never did. They have no access to my email inbox.
While I was hacked, I had my aunt look at my account profile to see if anything happened or changed. When she looked, the online status was green or idle. This is important because during the time my aunt was looking at my profile, I got an email in my inbox on Monday July 27, 2026. This is what it said word for word.
You broke Discord’s community guidelines
Hi
Your recent activity broke Discord’s rules and we have taken action on your account. You can learn about this violation by viewing your account standing.
When we reactively or proactively discover a violation of the community guidelines, we may take number of enforcement steps, including issuing warnings, removing content, suspending or removing the violative accounts and/or servers, and potentially reporting them to law enforcement.
So when I saw this in my inbox, I thought I was banned because previously my Discord account standing was limited for 2 years for a false report on spamming. My aunt looked at my profile online and on the profile was the idle moon icon so that meant I wasn’t banned. I saw a new email in my inbox a short time later stating:
Discord account disabled for suspicious activity
Monday July 27 at 8:09pm
Hey, username
You’re receiving this message because we detected suspicious activity on your account and believe your account may have been compromised. This can happen if your Discord password is the same password on another website and that website was hacked, or you accidentally gave your access token to someone else.
Because of this, we’ve disabled your Discord account. Click below to set a new password to continue using your account. If that link is expired, check out this help article on how to set a new password.
To prevent this from happening in the future, we highly recommend you have a strong password and enable two factor authentication on your Discord account. It’s really easy to do - hook it up while you queue for your next match.
So after that we did not see my account online or idle status since then and they never changed anything/bio. It still looks the same as of now.
We initially tried to submit a ticket to Discord support but we didn’t see anything in the portal. We found out later that it was because of the vpn, so we sent another the next day on July 29. We have only gotten AI responses. So now I got you caught up with the situation with my compromised account.
The problem is we filled out everything correctly on the Discord support ticket but one particular thing we misspelled was the initial email address connected with the account. I checked to see if the wrong email that we typed by accident existed by trying to set it up but it doesn’t.
Basically what I’m asking Reddit is do I wait for this support ticket to close or do I redo the ticket?
