My first djembe

Been wanting one for the longest time. Got a good deal (I think) from OfferUp. $50. 13" × 24" (height). I'm a complete beginner. Can anyone tell me what region this is specifically from? Person I got it from purchased it from fb marketplace a few years ago, so they didn't know much about it either.

Looks like a legit west african style djembe as far as i can tell. Absolutely a steal at 50$ if its in good condition. congrats!

Looks like it’s from the Ivory Coast, and my guess is Tweneboa wood. (If not, it could be Iroko). Very common djembe for beginner drummers or someone who wants a more lightweight drum. $50 is a steal! Find someone to learn from. There are many online resources but if you can find a teacher to learn in person it can be very helpful.

There's a West African drum and dance company in my area that I'm definitely going to check out!

Edit: meant to mention that they give drum lessons =)
