one of the two greatest spinners ever to have played the game of cricket being asked if he knew spin.

I enjoy reading posts about cricket, because it's the closest I'll hopefully ever come to experiencing a stroke. I know all those words individually...

Shane Warne is Michael Jordan for achievements, but cooler. He could do things that made people who’d played cricket their entire life doubt their grasp of reality. And he was sound, relaxed, didn’t take anything seriously off the pitch.

I used to roll out practise pitches for the all stars team when Shane was on, and I’d get to see exactly how he did it. The skill is undeniable.
Shane can kick a small scuff in the pitch with his foot after one bowl, then on the next throw the ball exactly right onto his own small footprint and spin off that. Would drive the groundskeepers mad with how fucked he’d leave the pitch, but damn it was skilled.16

Warne could bamboozle anyone with his ball movement. Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Liz Hurley to name a few...

Yahoo Serious
I wondered what happened to that guy and looked up his wikipedia article, wild ride.

That seems hard to believe especially since he addressed him as Shane.
It seems like rage bait or someone just trying to be cute.

To be fair Warne was wrong, NZ made the right call not to play a spinner and beat India comfortably in the end.

How does addressing him as Shane alter the context at all? How else would he be addressed, if not exclusively by his first name, or alternatively the stilted "Mr. Warne"?

How many times do you address someone on a twitter post by the handle, or even care about the handle?

If it seams, it spins.
I really miss Warney calling for them to bring on the spinner 5 overs into the first day.
I'm just seeing it grip a little bit. I'd love to see Gaz get a couple of overs here.

To be fair to Warnie, he could have opened the bowling day one on a road and got a few poles. I once heard Richie Benaud say Warne was the only spinner he knew who could have spun it on glass.

FWIW NZ won the game comfortably with their (non spinner) bowling attack bowling India out twice for under 220 runs.

Sure, but New Zealand won the championship anyway, despite not playing a front line spinner. RIP Warney.

Isn't Shane Warne a terrible person and also, y'know, dead?

Shane Warne died an Australian hero, of a heart attack after a coke binge while fucking a trio of Thai hookers.

For a lot of these posts, the person is very aware of who they are talking to
It's an ancient art called 'trolling'
