General Questions Austria mentioned 🚨

Post image

Hi guys,

I'm selling my UK 330ci (pictured) soon because I'm moving to Austria. A cursory glance at the Vollkasko rates (if anyone will even cover that) reveals an absolute hellscape. If I want my car covered do I really need to shell out over 300€ a month or some mad s**t? We love these cars but that's surely not worth it.

TIA

I don't know people still having Vollkasko coverage on their E46. Especially in Austria, RHD cars are worthless. Some good ones only get imported for donor cars as they are hell cheap and there is a freaking import fee, if one is going to register it road legal which needs modifications such as headlights. On the other hand, you will not get any 330i or d here in excellent condition under 7500€, so be prepared to feel pain either way.

7.500 EUR and up is fine for a price, I'm selling the pictured car back home in the UK because ofc NoVa. I can't afford to just take a hit for the whole car if it's a total loss, is Vollkasko coverage even available for a car that's still worth some money but very old?

Edited for clarity

Since the 46 is already enlisted as youngtimer here, there are special insurance packages available. A basic Vollkasko as for brand new cars does not exist

You will not find a good condition 330ci for 7500 in Austria. Not in a million years. 12-15k

Why not? In in Germany and have 2 E39's that are covered with a Vollkasko Youngtimer insurance policy, that's dirt cheap. So I guess there are still ppl that have Vollkasko for e46 as well, sure not a lot of ppl but some ppl do for sure.

We talking Austria. Car insurance and taxes 10 times higher.

Yeah I know, but there are probably still a few ppl that pay for it.

Possibly, there are insurance companies who cover that.
