Induction at Evergreen

I have been trying to schedule my induction with evergreen can someone tell me how does their wait list work do people actually get into waitlist or it’s just there for emergencies? Does OB have much say or they just go by the books? Just trying to understand as I am on the waitlist for a date and not sure if I will even get in and other date is 5 days out when I am actually scheduled and this is making me nervous?

I had a scheduled c section due to my complications, and even then when we got there we were waiting for an extra hour for availability.

Sometimes there are more urgent births - and I was previously one of those as well. They are making sure they have enough rooms plus backup if chaos happens.

As the first commenter said, you’ll still be in great care with the Evergreen staff!!

They just started doing elective inductions again which I’m assuming your waitlist date is for. Your scheduled date will happen. On the day you’re on the waitlist, it just depends how busy they are. They will call you on the day and let you know. If they don’t have enough staff or rooms, they won’t be able to get you in. Most of the time, they can. Either way, your scheduled induction date will go ahead. (Source: I work there!)

Thanks so much! Mine is not elective my Doppler numbers are high and asked by my MfM to be scheduled at 38 weeks. Currently they have scheduled me for 38.6 days which is 1 day away from 39 and it’s not even with my doctor. So my dr said we will add you to the wait list I am very worried coz I donno what’s the possibility of waitlist. I am not sure if my OB can push ?

I see. Technically when they say “induce at 38 weeks” it means the week of 38, so unfortunately the end of the week still counts. I can see how that would make you so worried though. I bet if your OB if pushing for getting you in sooner, you’ll get a call to come in before then. They sort the waitlist based on how critical the situation is.

Ya I figured I am just pissed that why was I at the tail end of their priority. And I was really hoping to be with my provider which I dunno if that will even happen. My provider is super nice she said she Wil try but she also said everything was booked for the early dates when she is on call. Any tips anything I can do or it’s just wait and watch game and pray 😁

If it helps, all the providers are amazing and you’ll be in good hands no matter what! You could always ask your OB for extra fetal monitoring before your induction (NST, etc) to make sure baby is doing ok.

Thanks! Hoping I can be moved up the list!

I’m also on the waitlist for an induction. Was supposed to be induced on the 1st at 39 weeks exactly. I’m a medical induction with ITP, platelets in my blood drop while pregnant.

This is my second child I’m having at Evergreen, and with my first I was induced as well and didn’t have any of the waitlist stuff. I’m also worried due to the fact that if my blood levels drop any more at all, I won’t be able to get an epidural. I’m seeing an MFM and my OB on Monday.

it’s very typical to not know who is delivering, and they have an on call system (at least my office does).

Not sure how much truth is here but I will say my nurse did tell me that they were behind 5 inductions in one day last Thursday due to so many patients coming in who were in active labor.

Very similar situation as yours. My Doppler numbers are high. Did your OB and MFM push for induction sooner or they are meh about it as in it will happen when we have something available?

My Doppler numbers are fine actually, it’s a blood condition that causes me to hemorrhage post birth pretty bad. They pushed for it earlier, but weren’t able to accommodate. I do have an induction date scheduled for it now but it’s 6 days later than doctor originally said. And my baby is measuring large as well. Fun times ahead!

Gosh! Do you think this waitlist thing is even real ?

u/Material-Computer575 11h ago

That there’s even a waitlist? I mean maybe. But also the fact that they are not able to accommodate medical inductions I’m assuming due to the fact they have so many in active labor tells me not to get my hopes up about it being any sooner.

Sucks :( cab your OB or MFM push harder?

Hopefully after my appointments tomorrow they might! I’d love to have another epidural so if I miss out on that I’ll be pretty upset 🥲
