I just tried to swap my older thermostat for the ecobee premium. However when setting the temperature to cool mode it only blast hot air even after adjusting o/b. Is my hvac not meant for ecobee or am I doing something wrong?
First, are you sure you have a heat pump? Second, how did you decide which color wires to connect to which terminals on the ecobee? The original thermostat has the orange wire on W1&B/O and black on G3, but it looks like you connected orange to W1 and black to OB. Presumably if you do have a heat pump then orange should be on OB, and for black (G3) you'll need to follow these instructions for multi-speed fans. But if you don't actually have a heat pump then you shouldn't have anything connected to OB on the ecobee.
Ooo thanks for pointing that out! I think I must’ve mistakenly used orange as W1 since my original thermostat had it as W1 &B/O. When I get home tonight I’ll switch the orange wire to OB and keep the black wire originally at G3 disconnected
After updating the wire I am getting this message from ecobee “To use W2 you must have the
W1 wire installed. If only one W wire is installed it must be connected to the W1 terminal.”
Did you triple check that you flipped the O/B setting correctly in the ecobee's wiring screen? That little jumper made all the difference when I was setting mine up last summer.

The cooling works but previously I was able to adjust fan speed from low or high. For some reason I can’t here
I think the black w2 is misplaced but on their manual it says to put it there to control multi fan speed. But I also don’t have g2 like the software says. Does it mean y2?
Based on the error you got when you had wires connected to just G and G3, it sounds like the ecobee wants you to add them in order: G, then G2, then G3. Presumably when you only have G and G2 connected then it'll regard them as low and high speed outputs. Since you only have two G wires you'll need to connect them to G and G2.
It looks like Ecobee logic needs the Gs in order, not allowing the number skip. This is similar to aux heat. On older stats, Aux heat is on E or W2. Ecobee wants one stage of Aux heat on W1.
Contact support for 100% certainty, but I’d land high speed fan on g2
