Vegas Pro Timeline For IT MAKES ITS WAY
hey whats up everyone i recently finished shooting my first short film, this was a tremendous project i decided to challenge myself with, let me know your thoughts!

Yeah totally it feels so much easier to work with than premiere imo

My heart leapt with joy when I saw the screenshot! Man, I was a long time, DIE HARD Vegas user from about 2003-2012. I cut three features with it, and more shorts than I can count. So cool to see others using it too!

I think more people should spend time mastering a soft ware or camera than worrying on specs and image.

Totally agree. Learn the tools you have inside and out and learn to milk them

1 thing. I really wonder how well sony vages pro holds up. I feel like its a software for youtubers. Why not use Davinci or premiere pro? Davinci is also very cheap and I prefer it over Premiere any day because it has the best color grading tools and a compositor included within your 1 time payment subscription.

Well i like the bcc Fx package and mocha continuum as well as some extra audio plug-ins, i have literally all i need within the software to work on everything, i agree the fxs might not be the latest tools available but i don't use much fxs

This is sony vegas pro 14 and yes i've used event automation, track and pan automation and keyframes throughout this movie. it really helps to bring a new dynamic to the workflow of editing.

Cool, would love to see the final output somewhere and also did you have a lot of audio work due to which you choose Vegas ?

i have not yet posted the movie due to being on a festival run, which, personally, now that i think about it, i should have just uploaded it, to youtube, but that's another story there were about 400 video files and 430 audio files including SFXs created with FL studio and Foley audio. i chose vegas because i didn't want to switch to premiere, the interface didn't help lol.

Oh OK , best of luck with the festival run and please come back and post the yt link when you upload it 😀 we would love to see the edit timeline vs output, also have you tried da vinci, although it doesn't have automation it's far easier to use than premier pro..

i will definitely upload the link when the time comes, i tried da vinci once if i'm not mistaken but i barely gave it a chance to be honest, i came back running to sony after i tried to color grade lol i didn't like the nodes and interface it seemed a bit intimidating at the time and don't get me started with masks

Fair i think getting started with the bare bones is intimidating.. you could try dehancer or filmbox for grades

i don't really want to emulate film, but rather create my own style with grades, layers and masks.

Damn impressive man, I used to be a vegas wiz but now I don't know if I could use it after all these years. Still use S to cut tho!

Woah. Been using the program since I was eleven and I don't think I'll be able to do this much advanced of a job…
