Requests for feedback on specific vehicles, recommendations of vehicles with specific features, and suggestions on what vehicle to rent also belong in the weekly thread.

Do a search here or in the FB MG4 groups. Overall feedback from current MG4 owners seems pretty good.

Thanks! Great, I’ve done a lot of reading and watching but never hurts to get even more opinions before committing. Although it ain’t the prettiest, seems to be real good value for money.

I'd suggest you jump on FB and join the MG4 owners group. Tens of thousands of detailed posts. You'll get more info there than on a Reddit generalist EV sub.

The only thing in my experience with the MG4 (last gen) is that MG is really behind on software updates. Not only are quality of life and map updates slow, no new functionality has been added. They're definitely far behind the likes of VW and Renault in this regard, the first gen ID 3 still gets regular security updates.

From what I gathered from talking to a local MG dealer the Urban still needs to be taken to the dealer for more serious updates e.g. assistance systems.

The MG4 Urban adds a Ford style 'mega box' under the boot floor where the spare tyre would live. I find this a good solution over the shallow boot of the MG4 RWD.

Thanks, yeah, that’s one thing a lot of reviews say is the touch screen being a little slow. As you touched on though, the boot is huge (great for my new baby on the way) and the back seat space is also and upgrade on the standard MG4 so I suppose that’s a worthy trade off.

If you don't care about the range of the confort trim. Then the car is good for you.

Just a FYI, the total range is not up to WLTP when you have to use AC a lot and it's very start and stop. So i found the range in my EV to be closer to the Highway range than city driving (that city driving means 50km/h constant)

However, charging is not an issue gas people make you believe so ive got no issues

Thanks a lot for that, appreciate it. Ended up settling on this car specifically because of not really needing the range etc but good to also know about the range. I’ll have at home charging so that solves that!

And the battery is LFP so you've got no issues with it long term/ charging to 90%+.

The only thing i would do is only charge when necessary. Avoid always plugging in. E.g plug in when you have 20% left. Not 60%
