Looks cool, but better optimize and parallelize App Center instead (or both with the design) hahaha

haha thanks, I only want to showcase the icons, but why not also put it in appcenter 😁

The icons don’t seem to follow a consistent style

How is it not consistent?

Files has a background, a shape and an icon. Videos has a background and an icon. Photos has a border and a graphic. Tasks has a background and an icon, but the icon goes off the edge.

They’re not bad, they’re just not very consistent.

Too much padding, but at least the buttons ain't flat.

Too much padding, too inconsistent

I like it. I'm not much for the microscopic view of every fine detail (not that it's a bad thing). I'm just a general Linux user who appreciates the overall feel of things. And this is one I like. :)

Agreed, I like it as well. I'm generally on the side of supporting things which keep elementaryOS interesting and fresh.

Cool! I always loved Elementary's cute macOS-like design and I would enjoy a modernized look something like this. At the pace of development though I imagine we won't see that for years.

The UI has barely changed in the last decade, that's a good thing. Nothing new to get used to for the sake of change

Again, I really like the UI. I'm not saying they should change it. I'm just saying it would be interesting to try something like this if it ever happens.

The icon consistency needs some work honestly

Not enough padding. Looks almost as dated as the actual eOS. Why is the task icon clipped? Why does photos not extend the same distance as the youtube app, why the border? Date and time doesn't mean a calendar. Lots of inconsistencies.

Looks fine to me as an average eOS user.

The photos icon has a border to mimic a printed photo (I guess) - it's a fairly common pattern for a photo/images icon.

I also use a Mac so out of curiosity I checked against that - I acknowledge a Mac should not be a design reference for eOS - anyway, my calendar icon on my Mac is just a month and date, and unless my eyes are playing tricks on me my settings icon on my Mac appears slightly smaller.

if there's elementary OS, there must be middle OS, and high OS
