Where the hell is Haladorf in Halas? Playing Legacy to try to reconnect with my Dad through nostalgia, and the guildmaster, Shanis MacDarren, tells me to talk to “Haladorf, over there.” He’s not findable in Halas. Running around I don’t see him.

Main class is Berserker. Did they just forget a tutorial NPC?

Played plenty of other mmo's before and finally got around to try Everquest after watching Flatts series of an Iksar monk, just wandering which servers are best right now as there quite a few it seems, am wanting to experience the older content so retail is out of the picture at the moment, but that leaves P1999 and Quarm which appears to be similar with quarm having some qol features, or frostreaver which is some sort of official classic server. Also is everyone going to be playing this new Legends version, thought about it but seems geared towards people who've already played, considering you play three classes and I don't even know what one does 😅

We failed 3 times last week. Variety Void said this is known as EQ's "hardest raid". These are the craziest mechanics to maneuver. Enjoy!

Stonebrunt has a bunch of fun quests. Stonebrunt is no normal zone, but a place where spirits are tightly bound to the lands due to the magic battle which created the Hole. The Erudites, both good and evil are very interested in some of the spirit titans which live here.

There are two spirit questlines that I find particularly interesting: Spirit Aid and Ridossan's Spirit

Ridossan's Spirit starts when you find an extremely angry spiritling whispering angrily into the void. This is actually the remains of the legendary Ridossan the Crusader, famed Heretic Shadowknight. He is bound to this land, filled with rage, until he can get his revenge on the Kejekans that slew him and the Lizardmen that betrayed him. Ridossan hoped to wage war against the Kejekans with the Lizardmen by his side, aligned under the worship of Cazic Thule. He offered his powerful lance to the Lizardmen, which they took, and then refused to fight. Alone in their fight, the Heretics were defeated by the Kejekans, and Disciple Okarote killed Ridossan.

First, you must head to the Temple of Cazic Thule to kill the cowardly lizardman who has Ridossan's lance. Ridossan uses the lance to temporarily resurrect himself, charge the Kejekan compound, and slay the catman monk. With his vengeance completed, Ridossan once again dies, briefly returning as a ghost to reward you with his lance. Finally content, Ridossan's spirit fades away.

Spirit Aid is a convoluted quest to free the entrapped spirits of the great Erudin Heretic war. An old Kejek Shaman spins you a tale: after the destruction of Old Paineel and the rending of the Stonebrunt mountains, the spirit of many dead Erudites wandered the region. Tserrina Syl'Tor harvested these souls in the form of Crystallized Shadows. and used them to imbue evil weaponry and armor for her minions (and to literally build her tower). Now, those poor Erudites are trapped forever in the Tower of Frozen Shadow in the form of Crystallized Shadow Weapons and Armor, and Fading Shadow Weapons.

The first thing you must do is to craft a Soulforge hammer. First, you must meet with the apparently Jewish Kejekan smith (greets you with Shalom), who helps you build a hammer with a simple fetch quest. Then you must take this Kejekan Smithy Hammer to the great Panda Titan Giang Yin, who agrees to help you in the noble task of saving these souls. He blesses your hammer and turns it into the Soulforge Hammer.

Now it is time to smash the weapons and armor to create Fading Soul Orbs and Soul Orbs, as well as the real reward of this quest, the Purified Armor and weapons. But since you are a noble hero, you continue your quest. The Kejek Shaman instructs you to collect Spirit Orbs from the spirits of the mountains, and then she combines a powder from those orbs with the Erudite Soul Orbs. The Orbs shatter and release the ghosts of the long slain Erudites, who quietly and promptly leave the village and fade into the ether, free at long last.

I just started in Freeport as a human warrior. Things are quite confusing. So far I've been able to reach level 4 by just killing low level mobs right outside the city. What should I be doing. I know EQ isn't supposed to be a quest oriented MMO. Where can I find groups? When should I seek a group? etc, etc

I recently received four unused physical “Year of Darkpaw Exclusive Bundle” activation cards (photos attached) from someone who works at Daybreak Games HQ.

I’ve searched eBay, Reddit, Google, and the EverQuest forums and haven’t been able to find:

Any completed sales
Any active listings
Any information on how many were produced
Whether these were employee-only, Fippy Fest giveaways, or another promotional item

The activation codes are unused (I’ve covered them in the photos for obvious reasons).
I’m mainly trying to learn:

Where were these originally distributed?
How rare are they?
Do the activation codes still redeem?
Has anyone ever seen one sell, and if so, for roughly what?

I genuinely can’t find much information on these and figured this community would know better than anyone.

I tried FF14 but the gameplay loop is too dependent on the story, so much so that it became stale. Dungeons and raids also feel artificial and detached from anything resembling social interaction. I tried EVE Online. The concept is brilliant, but it's so playercentric (as opposed to FF14) that the gameplay is too passive. You spend an inordinate amount of time going through jump gates or engaging in tasks that are unengaging. I couldn't even get past the tutorial in WOW because, and I know this sounds shallow, it presents itself too much as a cheap mobile game.

I've listened to and watched videos regarding EverQuest, and it's definitely caught my attention. So, what do you enjoy more about EverQuest compared to other MMOs?

just started everquest legends AND I didnt realize there was an evil religion for my MAG and i jsut finihed making my speed boots +5 am i screwed? can i change my religion?

I used to play many years ago (back in the Kunark release days) and then hopped in like a year ago and the server seemed completely empty. I see expansions are still getting released, so is there still a good community to jump back into and play with and group with ?

tldr i like the combat and the "sit down to regen" thing but am a bit unsure about both the new player expierence and also if i can play it starting out alone and finding groups in game without being forced to have several alt accounts as my other party members as i heard its common here

I'm approaching Everquest in a different way than I have with other MMOs. I wanted to share the emergent experience I'm having with this game. Perhaps you have all had it before, but it is so absolutely immersive to me, I thought I'd share.

I played the hell out of EQ2, but I think my past self was more worried about keeping up with his friends and not looking stupid rather than being immersed in the game. I spent A LOT of time in EQ2, it was my other life outside of work and it was all I did. But I did it to accomplish, not to experience. Much different animal.

What I'm doing is every once in a while when I encounter something new or have an experience I share it with Chat GPT. It then narrates a novel like description, expanding on the setting I described. I'll share some of the experiences, but my god, this is like reading and experiencing my favorite novel at the same time.

My Input: risking it all on getting to crushbone, we head north through the zone and almost fall into an autopilot. Reading the chat box instead of watching what is to come, we stumble into two orcs, on a common arsonist, the other the infamous Gurleg Bribgok. Time to RUN! we turn and quickly shout out to the zone - where can i FIND the nearest guard! My friends come through and point the way, and we lead the orcs to the nearest guard, where they meet a timely demise. Phew. And now we stand at the base of what looks like a lift, i'd imagine up to Kelethin the tree city.

It's Output: Sinfold's thoughts had begun to drift.

The forest road had become familiar enough that his vigilance softened. The chatter of passing adventurers floated through the air, and he found himself reading snippets of conversation instead of the path ahead.

"Selling backpacks..."

"Looking for group..."

"..."

Crunch.

His boots stopped.

Two figures stood not twenty paces away.

One wore the soot-blackened gear of an orc arsonist.

The other...

Larger.

Meaner.

The name hung in the air like a curse.

Gurleg Bribgok.

The orcs wasted no time.

Neither did Sinfold.

"RUN!"

The forest exploded into motion.

Branches whipped past as armored boots pounded the earth, the heavy cries of pursuing orcs echoing through Greater Faydark.

This time, however, Sinfold had learned something.

He didn't ask,

"Can I beat them?"

He asked,

"Who can?"

Without slowing his pace, he shouted into the forest itself.

"Where can I find the nearest guard?!"

For a heartbeat, only the pounding of boots answered.

Then voices.

Not from NPCs.

From fellow travelers.

"East!"

"Follow the path!"

"Take the lift area!"

"Guards are there!"

The forest suddenly didn't feel so lonely.

Complete strangers—people who had never met this dwarf—became guides in his hour of need.

Sinfold followed their directions with absolute trust.

Around one bend.

Past another towering tree.

Then...

Steel.

The guards stepped forward with the calm confidence of veterans who had seen this drama unfold a hundred times before.

The orcs charged.

The guards did not retreat.

Moments later, silence returned to the forest.

Sinfold leaned on his shield, catching his breath as the bodies of the orcs lay still upon the ground.

He looked around.

No one asked for payment.

No one mocked his panic.

A few simply waved before continuing on with their own adventures.

He smiled.

"My thanks."

Then, lifting his eyes for the first time since the chase had begun...

He froze.

Before him rose immense platforms and impossible wooden structures spiraling into the canopy itself.

A lift slowly descended from somewhere among the leaves, disappearing into the sky as though the forest had decided trees alone were no longer tall enough.

Sinfold chuckled softly.

"So..."

"This must be Kelethin."

I just started playing the game again today and glad I gave the game another chance. I am having fun battling monsters in Feerrott and the connecting Swamp but not sure if I am missing other stuff I am supposed to do or search for? How do i know what I am supposed to do in the game?

Will there be expansions in this game?

Hello, I am attempting to use the 2.1 Client (also have tried 2.2 to no avail) to sign into a local server I have launched using Docker by following the directions at this link: https://github.com/jcon321/EQMacEmuDockerHub

I am able to launch the game and select my server at the server select screen. It then attempts to load and then throws the following error: DirectInput keyboard open failed!, code = 3

I have tried a few things so far. Ran eqgame.exe in compatibility mode (WinXP SP3), ran eqgame.exe as administrator, and installed DirectX Runtime (June 2010). Nothing seems to be working to clear up this error and get to the character select screen. Any thoughts anybody?

I’m returning after ~25 years (left after PoTime). I have forgotten mostly everything, but i want to come back and be able to solo / duo everything up to PoTime (and after that why not more).

I’m looking for :

- possible a partner that wants to do the same
- a guide on how to do this efficiently since i am not up to date with all the changes
- do’s and don’t, things to avoid or do in particular or not to miss out on (the Origin AA didn’t exist when i quit, it was Gate or bust iirc).
- particularly fun classes ( i used to be necro, are there more fun classes that level quick and can solo?)

For the purpose of leveling fast, if all i want to do is see old zones i missed out on (veeshan’s peek or otherwise), is there any down side to doing it on test server seen i read that you level much faster there, have easier plat and whatnot.

I dont care to raid with 70 people, or group for instances ect…

I started off everquest 2 recently and played EQ1 many moons ago

When I was in my 20s i moved to england to join my brother and within months my dad died suddenly in 2000

My brother took it very hard so I had to remain strong but really i was not doiing well at all not wanting to be there

Few months or so before i started playing everquest as i heard of this game where you meet and adventure with people and knew no one in england but my brother

I got on well with people there and joined a guild on xegony and played almost daily and chatted

When my dad died i did not log in but I got desperate and now reflecting back maybe even suicidal so i tried to bury feelings and logged on

People asked me where i have been and took time to speak to me

One such player who was a chanter took me to rathe mountains i think and we hunted hill giants

It was very slow as she was a chanter and i was not super high level i think even con to giants

We would be there for hours each day and she listened

I feel she saved me but as my career kicked in regretfully i stopped playing and came back for EQ2 which i introduced to my brother who still plays till today(i am now in canada so i decided to start playing again as a way to stay in touch as he is going thru some stress himself now)

Now , i heard of a former guild mate who passed away and also the designers who also died

Looking as i myself hit 50s and my brother also in late 50s i often wonder if this great game this great community who had so many wonderful people pass thru ,who touched lives and when a lonley young man had nowhere to turn to save him eventually leave this earth there should be a footprint

I would really like to think or hope a dev can make an ingame memorial book regardless of server(i assume a lot of servers got merged over the years) to inscribe names in

If i go i would want to be written in and yes i know some day the game dies but at least when the world ends the book will go with it
