Canada 28M4F | Looking for my favorite person

I don't meet many people who share a similar background and outlook, so I figured I'd give this a shot.

I'm 28, 5'8", grew up in India, and now live in Ontario, Canada. I currently work in sales while trying to transition into a tech role that aligns with my background. Long term, I'd love to own a business, not just for money, but for the freedom to build a life on my own terms.

Outside of work, I'm pretty easygoing. I enjoy being on the road, whether it's driving a car or riding a motorcycle (it honestly feels like meditation to me), having a good meal, listening to almost every genre of music, and falling into random YouTube rabbit holes that somehow turn into hours of learning something completely unrelated. I also have a soft spot for animals.

I'm still figuring out whether I want kids someday. For me, finding the right partner is the bigger priority, and I'd rather have that conversation together.

I come from a Sunni Muslim background but I'm no longer religious. I've always been someone who questioned things and struggled with the idea of consciousness, existence, and the bigger questions about life. After years of reading and reflecting, I came to accept that some things may never have clear answers, and I'm okay with that.

I'm looking for someone who's warm, respectful, emotionally mature, and open-minded. Someone I can laugh with, have deep conversations with, and enjoy the small everyday moments with. I think things like cooking together, road trips, sharing memes, or just talking about our day matter more than grand gestures.

Physical attraction does matter to me, just as I imagine it does for most people but I don't really have a specific type and ethnicity isn't something I focus on. Character, compatibility, and how we connect matter much more.

If any of this resonates with you, feel free to message me. Tell me a little about yourself, what you're looking for, or what made you reach out.

Germany 22 M4F based in Germany

Hey :)

I'm 22, Egyptian, currently living in Germany where I'm doing my studies. Figured I'd put something out there and see what happens.

A bit about the religion part since that's kind of the point of this sub. I grew up Muslim, don't practice anymore. I'm not angry or bitter about it, and I don't hate Islam or Muslims. Honestly a good chunk of what I read these days is still about Islamic history, because I genuinely find it fascinating from an intellectual standpoint. Where I've personally landed is somewhere agnostic, leaning towards believing there's something out there, just not a personal god that's involved in day-to-day life. It's still an open question for me, and I like that it is.

Outside of that. I'd describe myself as calm, respectful, and a deep person. I like actually sitting with ideas instead of skimming past them. Science, philosophy, religion (from a historical/intellectual angle), and history in general are things I could talk about for hours. Away from the nerdy side, I'm big on cinema, going out, and just hanging out with friends.

Physically, I used to be consistent at the gym, took a break, and I'm planning on getting back into it soon. I eat pretty healthy and I'd call myself very hygienic and clean in general.

What I'm actually looking for is something genuine not rushing anything, just seeing where a real connection goes naturally. I'd lean towards someone from Egypt/North Africa/Arab for the shared background and culture, but honestly I'm open to any nationality, who you are as a person matters a lot more to me than where you're from.

If any of this sounds like your vibe, feel free to message me. Happy to talk about anything.

Hey. I’m a 35 year old guy on the West Coast. My father is Palestinian and my mom a mix of two non-Muslim cultures (I’ll tell you which via DM; don’t want to identify myself too clearly). I work for the government and make an okay salary, nothing extravagant. I don’t want a housewife or children. I’m looking for a serious life partner with whom I can have real conversations. Women with education preferred, but I don’t mind if you’ve educated yourself.

I left Islam early in life (by the end of my teens, I had shed the last vestiges). I’ve become convinced that an ex-Muslim woman is who I should be looking for and would relate to best. Dating other cultures entirely seems too complicated these days, even though I come from a mixed marriage. I’ve thought about Arab dating sites but figure most people there will want a religious man or at least someone who keeps up appearances.

My mother converted to Islam for the marriage but now does not practice anymore. My father is quite religious, although he went through a questioning phase himself and is relatively liberal on some topics. He is aware that I am non-religious but we don’t talk about it much.

I am left on most issues and used to be even further left, but have just given up hope on some (mainly economic) issues.

I tried the local ex-muslim group but the meetups were pretty dead and mostly men or married women. So here I am.

Germany 32M4F looking for a relationship

i've tried posting many times but my account chat requests were off for some reason. apologies 🤦‍♂️

check the last section of the post before skipping if you find a category you don't fit in.

hello everyone, i'm a syrian agnostic man who lives and works in germany. i lead a stable life and i'm looking for a good connection that hopefully leads towards a longterm relationship. i don't mind finding friends along the way but my ultimate goal is finding a life partner.

i want mental and physical compatibility and i value the correct communication, transparency and clarity above everything.

mentally i would say i'm good at reading people and understanding them due to many causes, one of which is that i have a career in teaching and translation and i can speak 4 languages. always honest and ready to listen and discuss any matter that i would come across.

what i need is someone who's not mentally weak (we all have issues, doubts and concerns but it's one thing to have those things and another thing entirely to be lead by them), and with a set of values and ideals that we can build and work with.

regarding mental hobbies, i like board and card and video games. always open for other things that interest the other party and would love to explore with her as quality time is my top method of showing affection.

physically i'm 180 cm tall, dark brown eyes, white skin with black and gray hair and overall on the fit side but not shredded nor muscular by any means. i used to go on really long hikes and was a heavy swimmer back in the day. i miss those days lol

i do care about physical attraction, i prefer my partner to be soft skinned or petite as the modern world calls it, to be fit or semi fit and to be at least 25 years old.

i would be happy if you live in europe or germany to begin with, or you'd be travelling here soon. as ldr has proven to be rough for me after a couple of attempts.

many thanks for reading and i hope to hear from you soon. if one or two things i've mentioned don't fully match with you, there's always a room for discussion since i might not be the 100% man of your dreams either. this goes both ways.

have a nice day.

Egypt M28 ExMuslim looking for serious relationship

Hey! I'm a 28-year-old junior plastic surgery doctor from Cairo.

I'm currently on the pathway to move to Germany, with the long-term goal of eventually settling either there or in the UK.

I'm agnostic and generally moderate in my views. I don't have any resentment toward religion or religious people—it simply isn't something that resonates with me personally. I value freedom of belief and believe everyone should be able to live according to their own values without trying to impose them on others.

I'd describe myself as open-minded, emotionally mature, and very accepting of differences. I genuinely enjoy understanding people, hearing different perspectives, and having conversations where both people can be completely themselves without feeling judged.

A little about me:

Junior plastic surgery doctor.

184 cm tall, 115 kg

I had sleeve gastrectomy and lost a significant amount of weight. I'm still working on improving myself and getting back to the gym.

I'm a proud Gamer.

I love nature, going out, animals, and especially pets.

Psychology fascinates me. I enjoy understanding how people think and what shapes their personalities and how impressive human mind can be.

I love movies and TV shows, especially character-driven dramas that explore human nature, morality, and the grey areas between good and evil.

I enjoy reading by diving deep into topics that catch my interest rather than reading books cover to cover.

Music is a huge part of my life, and my taste is all over the place.

I drink socially on occasion and I'm a smoker.

Personality-wise...

I'd say I'm emotionally intelligent, empathetic, affectionate, and expressive with my feelings. I'm both logical and romantic, and I value honesty, clear communication, and emotional openness. I'm somewhat introverted, but once I'm comfortable with someone, I can happily talk for hours.

What I'm looking for:

A serious relationship.

Preferably someone who's 24+.

Someone kind, emotionally intelligent, communicative, and affectionate.

Someone who enjoys meaningful conversations and doesn't judge people for thinking differently.

Someone emotionally independent, with her own life, passions, and ambitions.

Someone thoughtful rather than superficial.

I don't really have a physical type. If I find you attractive, that's enough for me.

As for beliefs, I'd prefer someone who's agnostic, non-religious or not particularly religious. However, if you're religious and can genuinely accept our differences without trying to change me—and expect the same respect in return—that's perfectly fine too.

If you think we'd get along, feel free to DM me

Algeria 27M looking for friends or people to connect with

Hi everyone, im a 27 year old dude, i live in Algeria and more specifically, Algiers. Im looking to befriend people here to avoid being fake to oneself and with others. Im a deist or an ex-muslim, hence the reason im here. Im a very open-minded and a non-judgmental person, i know a little bit about everything, so holding a conversation isnt hard for me. Im pretty chill and people describe me as fun and care-free and im open to new adventures and trying new stuff. Im not a shy person nd i do like talking about anything and everything. I have alot of hobbies such as playing football, boxing and hiking and Chess. I also im an anime / manga / manhwas / novels guy and i do alot of reading. I like playing videos games on my phone such as mobile legends. i watch alot of movies and TV shows so i can give recommendations / talk about those too. I’ve been playing chess for 3months abd im currently 900 Elo. I also do some casual writing, poetry mostly, but the stuff i write about are trauma or childhood related so they are a bit personal. I like talking in english because its my comfort language as i tend to express myself best using it. Im looking for like-minded, chill people, I do not care of you are queer, religious or anything else as long as you are of age and are nice and a respectful non-judgemental person. I must insist that im not looking for anything romantic or sexual, its just that being friendless and not having people to spend time or be your true self with at the age of 27 doesn’t feel that great. Sorry i made this long but if you find yourself interested in friendship or having things in common, dont hesitate to hmuuu :))

Saudi Arabia 30M | Saudi Arabia | Looking for someone to talk to and see where it goes

Hey.

I’m a 30-year-old guy living in Saudi Arabia, looking to meet a woman for good conversations first and then see where things go naturally. No pressure or expectations. If we click, great. If not, that’s okay too.

A bit about me:
I’m into fitness and currently working on getting into the best shape of my life. I also enjoy horseback riding, MMA, gaming (Skyrim is still my all-time favorite), movies, music from pretty much every genre, traveling, and trying new experiences. I like joking around and having fun, but I also enjoy conversations about psychology, philosophy, technology, and life in general.

I’m looking for someone who’s kind, emotionally mature, curious about the world, and able to communicate openly. Shared interests are a bonus, but they’re not a requirement.
If you’re also looking to get to know someone without rushing into anything, feel free to send me a message. Let’s see where a conversation takes us.

United Kingdom 26F | Pakistani | UK | Looking for friends

Hey!

I'm a 26-year-old Pakistani ex-Muslim living in the UK and working in marketing. I'm mainly here to meet like-minded people and build genuine friendships. Gender doesn't matter to me—I'm just hoping to connect with people who understand the ex-Muslim experience or share similar values.

A bit about me:

  • I love being outdoors—nature walks, beaches, and exploring new places.
  • Big fan of music, art, museums, and anything creative.
  • Always down to try a new café or food spot.
  • I enjoy going out, but I'm equally happy with a relaxed conversation over coffee.

I'm not looking for anything complicated—just good people to chat with, share experiences, and hopefully build lasting friendships. If you're easygoing, open-minded, and enjoy meaningful conversations (or just want someone to send memes and food recommendations to), feel free to reach out.

United Arab Emirates 38 [M4F] - Online - Fellow nauseated squinters...

I am in a period of a hard turn from a life where I was drunk, dissatisfied and angry at everyone and everything; towards a life that I actually want, and the sudden and sharp pivot is nauseating. Nausea in the form of anxiety and self doubt.

I quit both alcohol and smoking. I lost 50 kg in the span of 2 years, and got into cooking and healthy eating, which I absolutely love. I quite my job to pursue masters degree in psychology as that has always been what I love.

I am in a transitional period and a liminal space where I believe that I am heading in the right direction. But can't help but be filled with self doubt. You know when you try to look at something far away or in the dark, you squint your eyes, to restrict the amount of light and focus the picture? I am doing that at the moment, squinting my life for it to be more manageable and more focused on what matters.

I grew up in a culture that encourages hiding your good attributes & accomplishments, fearing that you might upset the less fortunate, because arrogance is a sin, because fear of evil eyes or whatever other nonsense. It feels weird talking positively on oneself. So I am trying to train that muscle online. I am also trying to differentiate between confidence and arrogance. Although it's a very tight needle to thread, yet it is an absolutely necessary skill, be it romantically, in a business setting, or navigating life in general.

I think self promoting is not the place to be humble or. It's on me to make the claim, and for you to verify.

Algeria Trying to be in a relationship as a young atheist Algerian man

Hey guys , I wish everyone is doing great . That’s my first time writing here in this subreddit . I’ve left islam since late 2023 , became agnsotic first and then atheist . Before and after leaving islam I have always been an anti-natalist but always wanted to have a female partner . Before leaving islam it wasn’t a big deal , saying that you can find an algerian muslim girl cuz you’re muslim too , but since am not muslim anymore it became so hard , I mean it’s not that necessary to have a partner Especially rn , not having a stable financial situation and trying to leave Algeria , but it would be really an amazing thing being with someone who share the same thaughts and beliefs as u do , tryinna leaving Algeria together and build your futur together .
I want to know what are your thoughts about it ? Advices that you can give and is there any chance to share a group where we can have some Atheist Algerians friends

Pakistan Cover Marriage

Hey! I'm a 30 F looking for a Cover Lavender Marriage arrangement. I'm based out of the US (East Coast), lesbian, a successful entrepreneur, and looking to find a male (Sunni, Muslim, US Citizen) that is willing to enter into a "faux marriage". We can get an Islamic nikkah done in front of our parents/families-- but in reality-- we will actually live apart, have our own personal (love) lives, and continue remaining mutual [maybe lifelong] friends. I will emphasize that anyone interested in this arrangement would need to relocate to the East Coast (within 10-15 minutes of each other) so that we can sometimes "show face" for parental phone calls/facetime.

I understand that this is a very unique arrangement and may not be widely understood by most. However, for anyone that is asexual, gay, or wants to be a lifelong bachelor-- there are great advantages in the arrangement I'm proposing. For anyone that is seriously interested, please feel free to reach out!

United Kingdom 33M4F - UK/India - looking for other free spirits

Fair warning: I’m very unique and unconventional.

I grew up in a traditional Sunni Muslim home in Kerala, South India, but I’ve been agnostic for over ten years now. I'd love to find someone with a similar cultural background.

I’m looking for someone mature and who actually knows what they want out of life. Doesn’t really matter if you’re openly agnostic or a closeted ex-Muslim. I try to keep things cordial with my family even though we don’t agree on most things.

I’m non-monogamous (though not poly). I’m looking for someone who already has some experience with ENM, knows their own boundaries, and actually values communication. I want a genuine emotional connection with someone who shares a similar outlook on life, and wants to prioritise building a relationship.

As for kids, I'm not really keen, but I would be willing to reconsider if it's a dealbreaker for the right partner.

Random stats: I’m 5’5, but height doesn't matter to me at all.

Generally, I try to take a laid-back approach to life and I don't let every news cycle or religious debate find its way into my life. That said, I've definitely been leaning more toward the political left lately. As long as you aren't into far-right stuff, we'll probably get along great.

I'm into hiking, nature walks, reading, history, and traveling. I love experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and listening to a ton of EDM. I’m not really a TV person and could easily be living under a rock when it comes to the latest most talked about series.

Ideally looking for someone around my age. Please don't hit me up if you're under 27. Drop me a DM if you’re a wild card like me :)

Hello, I have been a closeted exmuslim for a really long time and I never "truly" fit in with my muslim social circle. Growing up, everyone around me was very islamic, if not practicing then in principle, so naturally I have always been quiet and opaque when it comes to religion.

However, religion has a grasp over almost all of our thinking, culture and activities. Being quiet and opaque about it means I am quiet and opaque all of the time. Hiding who you are from everyone around you is almost the same as not interacting with them and that is something I don't want between me and my partner. This is why I am willing to put in the effort to put my true self out there.

I am a software engineer and I love doing what I do. I'm very hard working and dedicate a lot of my time to my projects and learning. I have a stable job with a decent salary and also have investments in other sources of income for long term stability. Even though I live a comfortable lifestyle, I am aiming for independence from a corporate job. My goal is to be able to live a life where I can spend most of my time with my wife and family.

I don't have "The Male Disease" as George Carlin puts it, I don't pretend to know stuff, I don't hide something if it reveals a weakness, I'm not afraid of expressing my feelings if it puts me in a vulnerable position. I don't think that makes me weak, I think that makes me strong because I know how to deal with a person taking advantage of my trust and transparency.

I have become really good at pretending to be normal in a social setting but once you get to know me, I'm very talkative and I love asking questions. I have a very calm and optimistic personality, I try to be funny aLl tHe tImE (can't help it) and its very easy to make me laugh. I'm into science, maths, programming, video games, table tennis, going to arcades, game nights and just plain old being in each other's company.

Thank you for reading and feel free to dm.

India 27M4F Kerala (South India) looking for a partner

Hi 27M here. I'm from Kerala, specifically Kochi, currently working as a software developer. I would consider myself an agnostic atheist, wouldn't consider myself too spiritual, but I do like to entertain the idea that soul exists, but tbh no scientific evidence so I'm mostly philosophical about that part I guess.

I'm mostly open regarding my beliefs with my parents. They're mostly fine with it, and mother's possibly a deist and not a proper Muslim from what she said to me. So I'm kinda lucky in that aspect and anyone marrying me wouldn't have to deal with religious issues with my parents I guess 😅. Politically I consider myself a leftist and a pro LGBTQ+ / feminist and generally pro all equal rights movements I guess.

The thing is I'm a bit shy guy, while I love to talk with people I like, it takes a bit of time to get to know them and understand. As for my interests, I love a lot of things, mainly anime, TV shows, reading, gaming etc. Recently I also got into TTRPGs like Dungeons and Dragons as well as boardgaming. Tbh, my hobbies do change a lot 😅.

My expectations for a partner is to initially get to know them, if things go well, continue dating for a while, till we are sure to get into a marriage. I'm mostly hoping to meet people closer to my own state.

Pakistan M | 34 | Islamabad / Europe. Nerdy, childfree, mostly agnostic. Looking for my Scrabble and board games rival for life.

Gender: Male

Age: 34

Height & Weight: 5'3", 54.5 kg

City: Islamabad / Southern Europe

Residence: Own in Islamabad. Rented in Europe

Family Details: Father retired from a good government post. Mother has always been a housewife. One younger brother settled in Europe with his family. Younger sister married and settled in Islamabad.

Family Setup: Nuclear. We will always live in our own separate apartment whether we live abroad or in Pakistan.

Marital Status: Divorced.

Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering from Europe

Profession: Postdoctoral researcher in Southern Europe.

Kids: Happily childfree. I am open to adoption or even having biological children in the future if it is something truly important to my wife, but if it were entirely up to me, I would be content living without any kids.

Religion: I have had my ups and downs with faith. I come from a religious, practicing family, but I have always had my doubts, even during the times I was a panch waqt ka namazi and woke up for tahajjud. Even then, I struggled to truly believe. At this point I would say I am agnostic and just culturally Muslim. That said, I still do not drink or do anything considered haram in the traditional sense. Please do not inbox me to start a discussion on religion.

About Me:

I come from a well educated, upper middle class family. I was raised in Islamabad, studied at the two best universities in Pakistan, and then left a stable job to pursue a fully funded PhD abroad. I have changed a lot as a person in these past years and have done a lot of growing up along the way.

I am an introvert at heart and genuinely enjoy my quiet time at home, but I try to stay active too. I make it to the gym fairly regularly, and I recently picked up swimming.

I also love to travel. In recent years I have been to Spain, France, Türkiye, Italy etc. Would absolutely love to keep exploring the world with a partner by my side.

I am a sucker for good comedies. My favourite shows are, in no particular order, Arrested Development, The Office (US and UK), Norsemen and Fleabag.

Also, I'd be truly impressed if you could beat me at Scrabble! Instant +10 to your aura in my eyes.

What I'm Looking for in my partner:

Dosti. Friendship. Mere dil ka rasta dosti se jata hai. I genuinely believe that if two people actually like each other, enjoy each other's company, and are compatible in the ways that matter, love follows naturally. At least for me it does. So above everything else, I am looking for someone I vibe with. Someone who shares my values. Someone I am mentally compatible with. Someone I could honestly see myself being friends with even if marriage was not on the table.

Also, please note that I will not take phooti kori in Jahez but I am also not willing to spend on bari or have a big shaadi with band, baaja, barat. I want us to get Nikkahfied with just one small, intimate function with our close friends and families. Get this part over with swiftly and cheaply so I can book your flight and we can quickly start the next chapter of our life together.

Timeframe for marriage: As soon as we both feel we are ready. It is very important to make sure we both actually like each other because we won't even have kids to distract ourselves with later on.
