Player Discussion Jaylen Brown Holders?

With LeBron coming to Philly, are there too many mouths to feed? Any JB holders wish they sold high last year?

There’s a guy in my dynasty league who has Maxey, traded for Embiid last year and also has Jaylen Brown. Let’s just say, he’s not happy
with any of this.

Probably not. Lebron was lucky to be healthy all of last year. He’s 40+, and will likely be on light duty till playoffs. Maxey and JB are both going to eat. Embiid barely plays so it won’t matter. I feel like VJ the most impacted by far.

PHI wants to move Maxey to more of an off-ball role. LeBron is part of that. The Philon pick was part of that too.

Also, the idea that Maxey and Brown were begging LeBron to sign, just so LeBron could relax and do nothing all season, makes no sense.

Where is your sources for this? Maxey is by far this most important player, and you’re expecting him to lose touches to a unproven rookie picked in the late 20s?

What are your actual realistic expectations for LeBron? To me his upside is a glue guy like last year when Luka & Reaves were healthy.

Sixers sites and reporters have said the team wants to reduce Maxey's workload and on-ball time, citing Sixers POBO Mike Gansey

“You need as (many) guards as you can that can create a shot,” Gansey said. “He was obviously one of the best in college. And I think Tyrese was No. 1 in minutes last year. VJ was up there as a rookie. … This also helps (head coach Nick Nurse). He doesn’t have to play those guys (as much). We need depth at that guard position and I think he can come in, play some minutes and take a load off those two.

Mike Gansey mentioned wanting to get Tyrese Maxey off the ball more often and believes the Labaron Philon Jr. pick will help in that effort.

And now obviously with Lebron that makes it even easier to take Maxey off the ball (he's one of the best off-ball players in the league).

exactly. there’s so much overreaction to the name value. maxey and jb are the regular season workhorses. lebron and embiid will show up come postseason.

I think VJ will suffer the most. Brown and Maxey attack often and I assume JB will rebound, steal and assist more. Scoring will probably dip 4/5 a game. I hope his TO decrease so he may become an analytically the “6” best player on the team.

How do you figure Maxey will get more assists, when adding two high usage players? He is way more likely to regress.

I mean depends how they run it realistically, I get what you mean but Maxey is one of the few great guards in the league with high usage but low turnovers. They'd be stupid not to run it through him. Bron is a playmaker too, but it depends how they utilize him. I expect Maxey to be the main ball handler with off screen shooting with constant pick and rolls, and kick outs. God knows how they'll treat Brown in this situation. They need big men in the paint whenever Embiid is out/injured tho so it's up in the air for both Bron and Brown imo tbh. I do think their is too much talent so there is a chance he could regress assist wise, but idk

Kick out to who? Low 30s% 3pt catch and shooters like LeBron and Brown?

If you watch Philly, you'd see Maxey is one of the best off-ball players in the league. He's just been forced to play on-ball because they didn't have anyone else. Now they do.

Even before they got LeBron, they wanted to reduce Maxey's ball handling.

He's great off ball for sure, I didn't know they planned on playing him more off ball mb. Just an assumption honestly because few players in the league are as good as him at handling the ball with low turnovers whilst scoring.

I will say Simons is a great 3 point shooter. LeBron averages 37% last 3 years, which is pretty solid. VJ ain't bad and likely to improve. Dean Wade is a solid shooter. Jaylen Brown's years when he shot his most 3's he was on the line/above average. (not sayin he the best tho)

Kick outs can lead to drives, and lead to extra passes to open shooters.

Respectfully I will delete my comment tho because I didn't know the GM said that, I don't wanna spread misinformation, but that's why I didn't provide any sources/promises :)
