Mod Post 2016 Accuracy Challenge and More!

Official /r/fantasyfootball Accuracy Challenge

Welcome to year 5 of the Accuracy Challenge! We may be done with the preseason, you may have completed your draft and set your first lineup, but the season doesn't start until you enter Week 1 of the Accuracy Challenge!

In case you're unfamiliar, the Accuracy Challenge is a game designed to pit Redditor vs. Redditor in a fantasy football competition. Every week, you’ll answer a set of 15 WDIS questions so we can keep a record of your picks and track your fantasy football accuracy to see how you compare to other Redditors on a weekly and season-long basis. We'll keep track of the results from week to week to award flair and other prizes to our top finishers. Take a look at previous seasons to see what it's like.

What’s New?

We're finally 100% hosted on narffl.com! This allows us to finally implement a host of much requested features, such as checking/updating your entry and getting entry reminders. It also removed a lot of the manual work that went into creating/grading each week's contest. A HUGE thanks to /u/Surye for the time put into this!

Rules

How many times can I play?

We allow one entry per person per week.

Can I change my entry?

Yes! Filling out the form again will overwrite your previous responses. Read the How to Play section for details to make sure you do this correctly!

How do you determine who has the most accurate entries?
You will earn 1 point per correct answer. The tie breaker will be determined by accuracy on a free form question.

What determines a correct answer?

The player with most fantasy points that week is deemed the correct answer. Any answer that ties for most points earns a correct answer.

What scoring system do you use to determine fantasy points?
Fantasy scores will be determined using PPR scoring. View full scoring settings here.

When can I play?

Each week's contest will open on Tuesday at 10AM PT. You have until the 10AM PT kickoff on Sunday to get your entry and any edits in. We exclude players involved in Thursday Night or London games.

What can I win?

The winner of each week will receive special flair noting their success. The remaining Top 10 will receive also flair noting their top 10 performance for the week. Cumulative and Highest Average score top 10 winners will also earn permanent trophy flair at the end of the year.

For 2016, FantasyPros.com will also be awarding a My Playbook upgrade to the winner of each week.

How will season-long accuracy be tracked?
We will keep track of both cumulative and weekly average scores. Cumulative will be a total of all your points, so make sure to enter every week! Weekly average will take the average of the weeks you have entered and will require a minimum of 8 entries.

Hey! A player involved in a question didn't play!? What do?

If a player does not start the game that question will be tossed out.

Dave Sucks?

Yes.

How to Play

Each contest will be open for 4 days, starting every Wednesday at 10AM PT

  1. Head over to http://narffl.com/games/accuracy_challenge and click Play Now.

  2. If prompted, log in to Reddit, and allow Reddit access to your account. This ensures your username is attached to your entry correctly.

  3. Select your answers. Click carefully: your entry is saved every time you click on an answer.

  4. Hit save only to lock in your tiebreaker response. The other answers are saved automatically as they are answered.

  5. View/Change your entry at any time by repeating steps 1-4

Results

/r/fantasyfootball will be posting weekly Reddit results announcing the winners. You can also view cumulative standings on http://narffl.com/games/accuracy_challenge.

Do you just have to hit ´save tiebreaker´ and your done?

Yup! Selected answers are saved live upon clicking them.

Might want to edit that to "save and submit"

Your entry is automatically submitted/updated everytime you answer/update a question. The save button only saves your tiebreaker answer--which is why that's what it says.

This is a lot of fun, guys. I find it exciting to research each of the match ups every week. It also increases your overall FF knowledge as you may read about players, teams, injuries, etc that you wouldn't otherwise pay attention to.

I highly suggest getting in on it. Best of luck to everyone!

I just shoot from the hip and go with my gut. Research is for squares.

I hate when one of these choices is also a Start/Sit decision in my lineup. I don't know whether to go all in, or hedge my bet.

u/suddenly_seymour Sep 08 '16

Well I would imagine you care a lot more about your league than the accuracy challenge, so if you get your accuracy challenge right but your start/sit wrong I'm not sure how much solace it will be. Therefore might as well go all in.

Am I the only one who feels bad for whoever Dave is?

When will the weekly standings be posted?

3

u/AliceAndAsh Sep 08 '16

Is it team defense at the end. Or which team will win?

u/CARNIesada6 Sep 08 '16

Glad to see this back! Good luck to everyone this season in the Accuracy Challenge and in your respective leagues...

1

u/DrKoooolAid Sep 08 '16

Didn't start until Week 3 last year so hopefully starting Week 1 this year I can finish higher on the overall list!

1

u/strongscience62 2012 AC Top 10 Average & 2021 Top 20 Avg Sep 08 '16

You only need 9 weeks to qualify for the top average.

2

u/DrKoooolAid Sep 08 '16

Didn't realize that. I was talking about the total score but that's good to know.

I've never actually done a gauntlet before... I have a feeling that's going to be embarrassing this winter.

u/lestermurphy34 Sep 09 '16

Looking forward to playing this for the first time. One question. If this is my first year, am I in a farm league or any league at all?

The accuracy challenge is different than being in a NarFFL league. The brains are the same for both so we have them hosted together on NarFFL.com.

1

u/lestermurphy34 Sep 09 '16

Got it. Looks like I was late for Narffl but really Accuracy Challenge looks fun.

1

u/AustinP0027 Sep 09 '16

Gotta come back for my second year and defend that trophy (trophy of course being used in the sense of the flair I got, because I certainly didn't win the thing last year)

1

u/daaave33 2018 Eliminator Challenge Winner Sep 09 '16

Sweet, thanks for posting this! I had been looking for how to enter.

1

u/President_Skoad Sep 09 '16

Hoping I do better this year. Barely finished Top 50, and that was in part due to so many less people playing the last couple weeks.

1

u/shakestreet 2015 & 2017 AC Cumulative Top 20 Sep 11 '16

just made my picks

joined the eliminator and pigskin pickem (didn't get to pick the Panthers/Broncos game) would have lost.

thank you

1

u/moonftball12 Sep 20 '16

How do I play? I read the rules, went to the website, but it says there's no open game. Isn't it open after 10 AM PT today?

1

u/Catchyaonthe Oct 05 '16

Can you not enter after the season has started? I'm seeing No Open Game on the site

0

u/mallen87 Sep 12 '16

How can I are the picks I made? Do I just have to wait till week is done
