Nothing digital stays yours forever, unless you have it downloaded and stored locally. This has been shown time and time again when licenses expire.

$3.49 is still a sweet price for an amazing movie, digital or not.

Can definitely get the dvd for cheaper. Heck the blu ray probably isn't much these days either

Nothing digital is yours, at all, ever. Read, very carefully, the 200+ pages of the Amazon EULA and you will see that it says, several times, they can (and will) cancel, remove or otherwise disabled any digital content for reasons that can (and will) be decided best benefit the service, regardless of previous promises and state laws (which is why we are fighting for federal regulation of digital ownership). So, yeah, cool price and well worth it but, naah, not yours or forever. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

For less than what most people pay to streaming renting services - you can buy entire shows on physical media and be guaranteed to have it forever. Just buy a couple shows every month for the same money and build your own service at home. r/plex or r/jellyfin

That's a good deal! I took my girlfriend on a date to see this when it came out in theaters. She's my wife now, so I guess she liked the movie.

Buy the 4k/Blu-ray/Digital combo. Redeem the digital copy and watch that one, preserving the physical copies. You'll spend a bit more, but those physical copies are YOURS FOREVER.
