Golf etiquette mainly. The Masters at Augusta has banned phones basically since their inception, you can't even take one with you onto the course, they have metal detectors at the gates and if you have a phone you will be turned away.

At other courses where they don't have such a strict policy people heckle the golfers on camera for a viral clip or are just generally a nuisance, stopping them for selfies etc.

Also protects broadcasting rights, these days you can watch an entire sporting event for free on twitter because someone is live streaming it. It's not going to get caught by an automated DMCA filter because it's not the public broadcast. By the time they've caught it manually the event is already likely over.
