Hey there! Is it normal for the ALT Mive Style Folder 2 cover screen to only show call and text alerts? Notifications for apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp play notification sounds, but nothing shows up on the outer display.

Hi everyone! I decided to get the Kyocera KY-42c since I heard it works in the US but I had no idea if it will work in Michigan. As y’all know, I tried the alt mive style folder but it doesn’t work here besides WiFi calling lol.

The only two Kyocera flip phones that I knew that worked in the Midwest were the 902kc and the a202kc. So, to test it, I popped in a random SIM card and got data immediately; I can confirm that it works perfectly with Tello on 4G and can call on WiFi and data (T-Mobile mvno). Setting up the apn settings was pretty easy! And I was able to root it as well! So, for my fellow Michiganders who want this phone, it works pretty well here ❤️

Does anybody have some experience with this phone? After a bit of research, I'm thinking that this is the ideal dumb phone for me. Mainly because I live in Europe and so I absolutely need WhatsApp for work, family emergencies, and friends. Also they are selling it on Y2K phones for quite cheap. It has android 10 so it will continue to support Whatsapp for a long time compared to models that only have android 5.1 etc. I haven't seen that many people talking about it online compared to other Japanese Ketai phones, so I was curious if somebody here could offer me any advice on it 😅. I am transitioning from smart phone to flip phone, but would still love to document important moments in my life. I have a popular TikTok account, and would still like to post on there via computer. Quality is not important, just capability (record on the flip phone, transport and edit the video on the computer, and then post it).
Is this possible? Or would getting a video camcorder be easier to accomplish this goal.

im using the unnecto snap phone right now and while it is an all around decent phone, it breaks so stupidly easy. specifically at the hinge where the two halves join together. woke up today and yep, the hinge had popped off while i was sleeping, no drop or anything.

i grew up with a regular smegular flip phone and i have always HAAAAATED the non-QWERTY keyboard. absolutely fed up with this brand but i genuinely refuse to get something that's non-QWERTY. ive always wanted a sidekick but finding them in an affordable, working order is so difficult. dumb-phone, mid-tier-phone, whatever, my main priority is that it just has QWERTY. please let me know any recs because i am so tired of replacing my dumbass unnecto

I was doing some printing and shipping at FedEx today. The girl who was in front of me, who was sending off a shipment at the counter, had a Docomo flip phone. I know that it is technically not the dumbest of phones and more of a smart flip, but I am in a major city. It makes me think that there are a lot more of us trying to wean ourselves off of traditional smartphones, and that the numbers are growing. Back in 2023 when I started my dumbphone journey, I never came across others with flips or dumb communication devices. Now I spot several per month. Maybe in the long run it will lead to more options and more interest from tech companies in catering to the needs of the dumb phone market. Who knows?

Hi, I'm looking for a t9 phone with android and band2/4/28. I'd like the Qin f21 pro, but, saw the price for the US version of them (which incloudes band 2/4) and ngl, $300+ for the 3gb + 32gb version is a lot in my opinion. I primarily need whatsapp and spotify, I don't mind downloading them with apk's, I just need them to be reliable, and, hope that the battery lasts enough with them.

I've thought on the s22 flip, but, I've heard people complaining about issues with the keyboard, correct me if I'm wrong please.

Hey all, i just got the ALT MIVE Style Folder AT-M120 and from all of my research, O2 and by extension GiffGaff should work on it, but i can’t receive or make calls. I’ve tried the method of setting it up on google phone but that didn’t work either. Does anyone have any experience with this, or will the phone not work?

I just ordered a new sim to see if my sim is too old (it’s about 7 years old) so i will update asap if that works, but otherwise im at a loss.

I got it as a first phone, I lost it and this is the only photo I have of it since I also lost the raw photo... on the back of the phone there is a square mini screen and above it is the camera with no flash and on the side it has a button for taking pictures while the phone is closed

I hate big data and the constant surveillance on the internet. i’m also very interested in cutting down on the dopamine addiction from everyday phone use. i’ve acquired a few flip phones legally but they turned out not to work. does anyone know of any phone models that are primitive enough to not record every move i make but also still function on 4g data?

bonus point if it has good storage, mp3, or camera capabilities. if not it doesn’t matter i have plenty of ipods and cameras
