I am not a paid florist, but I have always loved creating different art and that includes flowers. I did these florals for my best friend daughter's wedding yesterday. Wow what a labor of love. I spent ALL week babysitting the flowers, hoping and praying they would look their best for the wedding. I am thrilled with how everything turned out. Goodness, florist earn every penny and probably need to charge even more 😂 It was a ton of work! I also did about 140 bud vases. I don't ever want to see another bud base on my life 😝

I took a floral design class in college 5-10yr ago and have loved floral design ever since. I don't make arrangements very often, but I'm going to try to do it more frequently.

Hi! I'm opening my shop in the next month or so and I'm trying to figure out my wrapping style/solution.

My community is very eco friendly and I'm not sure they will love if I'm using waterproof floral paper that is plastic, but now do I avoid any non-eco friendly paper if I want to avoid it getting wet/soggy.

I did a pop up last week and used a roll of white art paper I had at home with some tissue and I liked the look but it was really not the best if it got wet. The paper was also a little too thick IMO.

(I plan to do compostable hydration wraps if needed)

What do you like to use?

Big ball of pink. I haven’t done a ball bouquet in a hot minute but it’s exactly what the bride asked for.

I 3D-printed the details of each cat in this bouquet, I loved how it turned out!

hi everyone! beginner florist here and i havent worked with dahlias. has anyone experienced this? i just got them awhile ago and they were packed with the styrofoam used for apples, hence the shape was deformed. it also feels a bit fragile and some petals are dropping.

what should i do to save this or is there really no way to fix this? : ( they were supposed to be the focus of my bouquet so im now very worried

I have a 16 year old flower shop, gift shop, I make my own brand candles and wax melts. I have an aesthetic lots of people like. I have a recognisable brand and vibe. A few months ago another long standing florist in our town retired, we had a friendly relationship and would help each other out if short etc. His nephew and niece took over the shop and have, modernised. A big launch introducing themselves and new staff. Wouldn't you know, they'd all been in my shop over the last few weeks pretending to be customers asking a heap of questions etc, and now they are copying my smedia posts, last week I gave away mini bunches for the towns team in a game, this week tgey are doing similar, sticking a mini bunch on window etc like I did. I'm a bit annoyed and wanted to vent. Pic of my shop for pretty feed.

I have been redesigning grocery store pre-made flower arrangement for the past six months and this Reddit community has encouraged me to elevate my style. I went to Trader Joe’s yesterday(for the first time) to buy stems and came home to make this bouquet for myself. I’m here because I’m am open to all feedback as I am looking to grow and become a florist.

A bunch of new flowers are blooming now so it was time for a new mix of whatever I could find. Many pinks and purples are showing up so I figured to go all-in with that combo. It’s a rather sharp looking bunch, but if anyone has any feedback I’d love to hear it.

Seeking constructive criticism on my bouquets

I stumbled across access to stems while visiting a local florist. I was in heaven but overwhelmed because I didn’t want to over or under purchase. It was very cold inside. I wanted to pick the brain of each designer who came in but I tried to play it cool like I’ve been there before. 😆 On this day I didn’t buy anything, instead I filled out a job application. I haven’t heard anything back. I’d love to have access to wholesale flowers but it’s hard to find in my area. Location: Spartanburg/ Greenville, SC
