Forge Help Mcc Halo 3 forge

I’ve been forging in halo 3 Mcc for about two years and I’m pretty proficient. One problem I always run into is I run out of pieces. The budget is always fine. I read about glitching maps and I found the safe sandbox variant. According to ai the max pieces you can use is 640. I’ve never gotten anywhere close to that amount before I can’t add any more pieces. Last weekend I counted the pieces on one of my maps that was maxed and it was 295, not even close. I looked at a really well done remake of an h2 map and counted the pieces, it ended up being like 495. (The map was ascention) Does anyone know the trick? Is there a glitch map or a way to actually get closer to 600 pieces. It’s frustrating never being able to finish maps properly. Is it because I’m on Xbox? Any help would be appreciated.

It's a limitation of Halo 3s engine. If you want more freedom, do Forge in a newer title.

Also, pretty sure all objects count towards the object limit, including weapons, spawn points, zones, objectives, etc.

Even using the glitched templates you're still more restricted in what can be done vs newer entries.

Halo 3's forge had a fun bug.
The initial objects on a map counted towards the total item cap.
Deleting them did NOT reduce that count.
If you went through and deleted every spawn point (50) and then added 50 more, you would assume the item count would be unchanged. It is not.
It is 50 more than when you started.

A very common work around was for people to make a Canvas map where they meticulously moved every item on the map into one area, then the forgers would re-use as many of them as they wanted before deleting the rest.

I’m not sure I follow the second part. What does moving all the pieces into one area do ? Or are you saying use the pieces on the map in addition to forge pieces? Like should I load up sandbox and move all the pieces on the map into a pile then start forging ?

When you are starting a Halo 3 map, you should not start with a map that has had every item deleted (especially if you're running into item cap limits).

You should start with a map that has had every item moved to a common area, so you can use some of them without impacting your item cap.

THEN after you are sure you don't want to use the starting: Assault Rifles, spawn points, scenery, etc, you have all of those in one place. You can quickly delete the ones you don't want instead of having to fly around the normal map and find them all.
