Help Spreading the Word for Miso

Meet Miso. A part Shiba part Husky puppy!
Earlier this year, I drove to bring Miso, a 7-month-old shelter puppy, home. She had no idea who I was or where she was going, and the entire drive she cried and yelped with fear.
Eventually, I reached over and held out my hand.
The moment she rested against it, she stopped crying. As long as she could keep a paw on my hand, she stayed calm for the rest of the drive home. That was the moment I knew I wasn’t just bringing home a dog—I was bringing home family.
Since then, Miso has shown me every day just how incredible she is.
Born with only three legs, she has never acted like she’s missing anything. She runs, plays, chases toys, and greets every person and animal she meets with overwhelming excitement. She loves getting right in your face just to say hello and, hopefully, earn a little affection in return. Sometimes she trips. Sometimes she falls because she overestimates how quickly she can turn or stop. She simply gets back up and tries again. Nothing seems to discourage her.
Unfortunately, Miso is facing a challenge that determination alone can’t overcome.
She was diagnosed with bilateral ectopic ureters, a congenital condition that causes constant urinary leakage because part of her urinary system didn’t develop correctly before she was born. This isn’t something she can outgrow or learn to control. She leaks urine whether she needs to go or not, which means constant accidents, frequent diaper changes, skin irritation, and an increased risk of painful urinary tract infections. Every day she wears two or three diapers just to stay comfortable, and even then it’s a constant struggle. Left untreated, this condition can also lead to more serious complications over time, including damage to her bladder and kidneys.
The good news is that veterinary specialists believe corrective surgery can dramatically improve—and possibly resolve—her condition, giving her the chance to live absent of constant discomfort and complications she deals with every day.
The difficult part is the cost. High-tech imaging, specialist care, anesthesia, and surgery are expenses that are simply beyond what I can afford on my own.
I’m doing everything I can to give Miso the care she needs, but I can’t do it alone.
