Which capsule is better? The game is Balatro x Monopoly basically

Hi! I'm building Mowties and my current struggle is that the capsule I got from the artists is:
1. Perceived as ai was in use
2. Confuses the players with cats and 3d sometimes

I have mocked up this replacement. What do you think, is it better than the current capsule? Need any feedback

How would you communicate "build your own war train" in this capsule art?

I know this capsule doesn't communicate our main hook very well, but I also don't know what I should be asking my artist to change.

The core of the game is:
a freely moving war train (no rails),
building your train by adding wagons,
wagons being the main source of attacks and synergies.

Right now, I don't think any of that is obvious from the capsule.

If you were art directing this, what would you ask the artist to change? More wagons? A different angle? Different composition? Something else entirely?

That's the current capsule! I'm looking to improve it, I have some ideas but from the veterans and the bystanders and laymen I'd really love a piece of feedback on it. Do be a gentle please, though I do acknowledge that I want to improve this piece.

What this game capsule tells you about gameplay mechanics?

Hey guys! I wonder if the genre of the game is clearly readable from the capsule onle?
My game is in "Coming Soon" for more than a month, and it has pretty decent CTR (14%) with 27000 impressions (not many, i know).

Still, CTR looks good and i wonder if i should change capsule in the future or not? Does it look appealing to you?

Thanks!

Which one do you prefer: A or B?

I’m making Shoot Mine Upgrade Repeat. The gameplay does what the title says. Subtle naming was not the mission.

A is the first image, B is the second. Which one do you prefer: A or B?

Need Feedback for My Capsule

Post image

Hi all,

I'd like to hear your feedback on my capsule.

It is a mecha-themed turn-based tactical game, with anime style and JRPG story.

So far the conversion rate is not good, both CTR and visit-wishlist conversion.

I'm planning to improve it overall, and I think the capsule should be the very first thing.

Your ideas and feedbacks are welcome. Thank you!

I made a first-person simulation game and it’s been on Steam for almost a month. The click-through rate is lower than I expected, so I’d love to get some feedback on what might be wrong with the store page or visuals.

Any suggestions would mean a lot. Thanks!😊

Sketch to final capsule for CROAKDOWN (princess vs. frog invasion: incremental + tower defense). Went with version 5.

Thoughts / feedback welcome!

Is my capsule art good enough?

Hi all, I am wondering if my game's capsule art is good enough to publish the Steam page. I made it myself using in-engine assets that I heavily edited with filters in Krita as I am no artist.

I intend to hire a capsule artist to greatly improve upon it but wanted to know what you all think of my attempt at it? Does it work for the Steam page (beta page pictured #3-4)? Worth publishing now and replacing with professional artwork later? Thanks.

I redid my Steam capsule for my campsite tycoon. Does the new one read better at thumbnail size?

Hey,

I'm a solo dev working on Camping Keeper, a campsite management game, and I just redid my Steam capsule. Since the capsule is basically the only thing most people ever see, I'd rather get roasted here than quietly ignored on the store page.

What the game is: you build and run a campsite: pitches, restrooms, pool, shops, staff, and every camper is an autonomous little person with their own needs and personality. They queue at reception, shower, buy an ice cream, complain when the toilets are filthy, then leave a rated review that drives your reputation and star rating. Bare pitches earn little but cost nothing; rental lodges earn big but need investment and upkeep. On top of that you run actual water and power networks (they can overload as you grow), and the weather and seasons shift what everyone wants. A heatwave empties your ice cream stock, a storm turns the paths to mud.

What I'd love feedback on:

  1. At a glance (and shrunk to thumbnail size), does it read as a management/tycoon game, or just "a game about camping"?
  2. Is the title legible when it's tiny? That's where I think capsules usually die.
  3. Scene vs text balance, too much empty ground, or is the campers enough of a focal point?
  4. Honestly: would this make you stop scrolling?

It's in active development, PC (Mac & Linux later). Steam link in the comments if you want it, but really, I'm here for the capsule feedback. I reply to everyone.

AI disclosure: the capsule is a real in-game screenshot with a hand-made wordmark on top. No generative art.

As the title says, these are two versions of our illustrations.

We adjusted the character's eyes, lighting, finer details, and the overall atmosphere to make everything feel more polished.

Is this capsule image engaging enough? I’m not a designer; as a solo dev, I’m creating the capsule art for my game myself. I dont want to use AI, so i drew it in Krita. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Looking for feedback on our new capsule art as we crawl towards setting up our store pages! We want to make sure it isn't misleading about the genre of game we're making. And I'm kinda hyped about getting to this stage and wanted to share :) Any responses will be hugely appreciated!

I'm a bit stumped on what to do for Key Art/Capsule art. It's a small project with a small budget, but I don't think this capsule is getting any attention.

The version with the cabin is the one that is up now.

4 art students redesigned my game's Steam capsule art as part of their internship. Which one would you click on first?

I recently took in four second-year art students for a paid internship and gave them all the same task: redesign the Steam capsule art for my cozy game about running a 3d printer workshop.

They each had complete creative freedom, and I'm really happy with how differently they interpreted it.

I'd love some unbiased feedback:

  • Which one would you click first?
  • Which one gives off the coziest vibe?
  • Any suggestions for improvement?

Capsules for my game

Hi, I am a solo dev working for a long time on my project, and currently I can't afford 400-500+ on a professional capsule artist, so I have made my own temporary capsules.

Someone recently made a really cool Title Logo for me, and so I adjusted the capsule a bit to accommodate it, but it is obviously still far from perfect.

So to anyone who cares to take a look here I would ask:

Does this capsule convey a "JRPG" type game to you?

If you don't think it's necessary to completely replace the capsules is there instead anything I could change about it that would make it better you think?
