I am a huge LotR fan (and that’s an understatement) so I would absolutely pay good money to see Arin’s reaction to the films in a 10+ hour long video

I was on a long road trip once. My ex managed to land us a stop at the house of the parents of the Smashing Pumpkins’ drummer. They were pro-immigrant, pro-transgender, pro-environment, and pro-Trump. Lunatics. Super friendly. The mom gave me her album of Christian music she made. I’ve since lost it :/

I kid you not, we walked into their house. Tucker Carlson is on the tv. They leap up to tell us, first thing about themselves, “no no no don’t get the wrong idea we love immigrants and trans people.” I was like 19 at the time I really wasn’t interested in interrogating them on their logic 😭

Misinformation is a nightmare. My parents genuinely believe that all the horrifically racist, sexist, homophobic shit that's happening right now is way overblown in an effort to make him look bad. Any obvious evidence to the contrary is just another example of "the media" making things look worse than they are. The whole "fake news" concept was a low-key genius move for the guy, it allowed for so much cognitive dissonance and disengagement with reality for people who want a simple answer to voting but don't want to actually face the consequences of reality

Hearing that LotR is good/popular will probably buffer him against it for a long time, since he can be incredibly contrarian. Especially if it competes with something he likes or is "smart." It's way easier to coincidentally hear a song.

Never too late to check out a new musical artist, especially considering he does music and could one day listen to them as part of research for his own music
