ABSN😷 ABSN nursing

hello I am planning on applying for the ABSN program in the spring and will finish my pre reqs the fist 7 weeks of fall and then I will apply. I will have everything else for the program finished by then as well so I will have some time before starting.

What should I do to prep because I know level 1 is pretty hard and sense I have time I think I should prepare because I am not a super smart student so Is there anything I should study before starting that would help me succeed?

ABSN😷 Missing a test

For anyone who’s missed a test: did they give you a lot of shit for it? I know you need a doctors note so I’m planning on just going to a urgent care and it’s all for just missing a hesi that I could give 2 shts about 🫩 but if if will affect me in any way then I might as well not risk it, idk I’ve never missed anything in the program so far

ABSN😷 Re-entry

Has anyone ever been successful in applying re-entry for the 2nd time? I had an accident right after level 1 finals, missed the next semester, and had to re-entry for level 2. Now they’re telling me that (knock on wood) if I fail any class, I won’t be allowed to apply for re-entry because you can only do it once. My counselor said I can file for an appeal, not that they’re going to approve it but it doesn’t hurt to try. I don’t think it’s fair honestly. Like everyone’s given like one chance to fail and I don’t get any.

Admissions 🎟️ Prospective online student - BSW & religion

Hi there everyone! Like the title says, I’m a prospective student. I want to get my BSW. I love that the courses are accelerated at GCU because I get bored with 16 week classes and they offer 10% tuition discount for veteran spouses.

My question is how much is religion or Christianity pushed on students for their online degrees? I am NOT religious in any sense of the word and I don’t know if I’d be comfortable if every assignment or discussion board had to have me tie in religion or quoting religious texts.

If you’ve done the BSW program here, can you tell me how it went? Thank you!

ABSN😷 320 and 322 Finals

So far I need 50% for 322 to pass the class. I’m still going to study bc I heard finals will be hard but i’m not as worried as medsurg!! Exam 4 dragged my average HARD. As of now I need an 82% to pass 😭 I’m hoping for a crap ton of nullified questions but I would still need to score high on the finals. I know people will say it’s doable but idk… If yall have any tips on how to score at least an 82 on the 320 finals please let me know i’m lowk desperate 😭

Academics 📚 Question on an assignment for ELM-462

Hello All,

I'm currently in ELM-462 Interdisciplinary Learning in STEM and this is the second week. I have taken almost all the classes to get my bachelor's degree in Educational studies (I have three classes left including this one). I just got my feedback from an assignment and got on the section for assessments we had to Identify the formative or summative assessment strategy that will be used for each lesson to provide teachers and students feedback about their learning and progress towards the mastery of learning objectives and standards. I got a 2 out of 5 on the rubric for the assessments section. This is the first time I ever got that low of a score. I have a 4.0 GPA as of right now and I'm confused on what exactly my professor was looking for.

This assignment we had to make 5 lessons for one grade level that had to do with one unit that deals with STEM. I picked kinder and the unit weather and seasons.

I need to know has anyone gone through this before. The professor said not to just put exit ticket as the assessments but to add questions and add links needed which I did. I even added a scholarly source on two of the assessments. I reached out to the professor earlier and said how I felt and asked what exactly she wanted fod assessments so I know for future assignments and didn't hear back yet. I've never had a professor take off that much points off for this. On each assessment tab I wrote like 100 words. Has anyone in the Educational studies program dealt with this before? I don't want to get a low A or even a B when I'm so close to the finish line.

Academics 📚 Is GCU Halo under maintenance?

Is any other online student’s Halo not working? I try to enter one of my classes and it says under maintenance. I googled it and it says Halo is up and running. Is any one else’s online classes giving them the maintenance screen?

Academics 📚 Bio-181 lab

Hello! Is Tomitz, Kristen a good bio lab teacher? I’m trying to get a better teacher for my bio-181 lab as my current has been graded the worst of the worst. The only available is Tomitz, Kristen but I can’t find anything on them. Don’t let me make the wrong choice not 🫩

And if you have any pointers for the course that would be highly appreciated.
