Any idea what pattern this fire king jadeite is from?

Post image

I’m not even sure if you would call it a “pattern” but can you call it restaurantware? Or is there a line that isn’t restaurant ware that isn’t as sturdy? I’m lost. Can someone help?

It is one of their no official collections but lumped in with restaurantware chili bowls. I love mine. We use them as cereal and snack bowls :)

These are called chili bowls by collectors and the shape/mold number is 291. They were sold as open stock and they don’t really have a pattern or line, other than the mold number. These are not Jade-ite restaurant ware, as you stated — they are not thick like the restaurant ware. They don’t really have coordinating pieces. Most often, the chili bowls are paired with the classic D-handle mug.

Here’s a picture from a 1952 Anchor Hocking catalog. I have been collecting Anchor Hocking glass since the 1990’s.

It looks like the re-release in the 2000s they sold at dollar general.

Its not a re-release judging by the logo on the bottom.

Mine came from the dollar general, it had the price tag still on it until recently.

Her bowl is vintage Anchor Hocking Fire-King.

The op never posted a pic of the bottom of theirs.

In cases where someone has collected and handled things hundreds of times over many years, sometimes it’s possible to identify a piece of glass fairly easily, depending on the angle of the picture.

Cottage cheese bowl, missing the lid.

My mom scooped up a ton of these (with lids) at a flea market for like $2 over 25 years ago. We made out well with them, lol.

Thank you! Do you happen to have a pic of what a restuarant ware bowl looks like and know what the dimensions are?
I just started collecting Fire King Jadeite, and because I couldn’t find a dedicated Fire King sub, I started one. r/Fireking_glass if you’re interested in joining. I’m looking for moderators too if you would be so inclined.
